Online Purchases

Please return your item unopened and in good condition along with the shipping receipt for it within 30 days of your purchase. Party City does not refund shipping and handling fees or taxes. All returns are credited based on the form of payment that was made at the time of the purchase. Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving items may be returned up to 7 days prior to the date of the holiday. Items that cannot be returned include cosmetics; custom and personalized items; helium tank tops; hosiery; perishables; bulk products; special order items; undergarments; and wigs. Items cannot be returned without a Return Authorization Number which can be found on the Party City web site. Please write your Return Authorization Number on the outside of the package and include your packing slip.

In-Store Purchases

Returns and exchanges will be given at any Party City store location for any purchased items pertaining to Halloween by October 24 - after this date, only exchanges will be granted. It is imperative to bring your shipping receipt in order for Party City to process your refund or exchange. Merchandise can only be redeemed for credit at a Party City retail store location. Product kits that are purchased online from Party City can only be returned through the mailing process. No fees or taxes that are incurred for mailing back items are included in the refund process.

I went in store to buy balloons. I specifically asked for the larger sized balloons and pointed directly at them. They blew up the smaller one. After telling them they were incorrect, they told me I would have to buy it again or proceed w/ the smaller balloons because it's already blown up. I understand helium isn't cheap but being told I would have to pay an additional $30 for something that wasn't my fault was disappointing. The manager also just approached the entire situation with such a nasty attitude. Keep your damn helium. It ain't that serious.

I bought items for a toy story party for daycare I was later told that I couldn't give out items I left it like that knowing I always keep my reciept after learning I lost it I still went back because I didn't open the items and the same person that took care of me a week prior said I remember you but I can't refund your items without a receipt so now since I don't have any intrest in purchasing anything else I'm stuck with these items without any other option DUMB

I received a $1 broken jump rope. It was unopened, I sat on hold to have it replaced. I was told I could get a replacement or refund, I told them I wanted the item. She asked if I wanted to just go buy it at their store. No. The next day it was shipped out and they billed my credit card $8 in shipping for an item that was clearly sent broken from the warehouse (the handle was cracked all the way down the side). Now I get to sit on hold again, after they open for their four hour customer service window that is. My first and likely last Party City order. I know it sucks to eat the shipping cost, but that item was never checked over as it was an obvious defect. Do better.

Takes too long to respond, misleading phone app stock availability, and bad customer service. I've been trying to get a refund on something they charged me for that wasn't even in stock.

Online returns did not work for my order number or phone number. After contacting customer service three times to follow up, I still have not recived a shipping lable and it has been three weeks. Now no one will return any emails.

Received my order of bulk candy today, May 5. Unfortunately, I had already opened one bag when I noticed it had expired in January. Other box has not expired. My advice to everyone--check expiration dates before opening since they are obviously selling expired food. Will not be purchasing from them again.

Harvey. LA store. 10/25. 7:15pm.

I purchased a few items Saturday. 10.18. While there, the other guy said at the checkout I could return the items for a refund. Ok. Went today, the unpleasant manager, Johnny had the nastiest attitude when I mentioned I was told that it could be done.
I received his rationale, but the body language, facial expression and tone on his. Voice was unpleasant and unwelcoming.

I send many people to this particular store as a part of my professional status. However, after tonight's tacky behavior from Johnny, the MOD, and miscommunication with his fellow employees, I will ensure that the dozens of families and constituents I direct to patronage them will be redirected effective immediately.

I had my card and a scanned copy of the receipt of my purchase. However party city wouldnt give me a refund. After talking to several employees and a manager that was very short with me limiting his answers and unable to explain the return process to me. They ended up giving me store credit while I was still trying to resolve the issue and the manager walked off. Which left me with a young clueless cashier. I actually would have kept a few things if I was just getting store credit but didnt get that option. The store didnt have what I wanted and I tried to buy it online however I cant figure out how to pay online with store credit. Is this possible? Very frustrating. Ive returned to the store before without a receipt and been treated like a thief. Later to find the receipt went back and then it was past the date to return. Crazy.

I placed an order with this company for party supplies. They said they shipped and delivered it but I never got it. 4 days and a social media poop storm (they apparently also sensor curse words) later I finally actually got a response. They said they had refunded me and sent me an email, but my bank does not in any way reflect that. They f worded me over and stole my money. Do NOT buy from them. They have some of the worst customer service and they are liars. You will never actually see your money back.

I wanted to cancel the order I made 30mins before, so they wouldn't ship. I waited for about 40 mins for the answer. But in about a minute or so, the customer service representative dropped the phone! Are you kidding me? After waiting for so long? I filled out their "contact us" form, explaining the reason of cancel (I wanted store pick-up, but the system made an online order, which would arrive later when I actually need), but no one responded. And they started shipping everything the next day!
And I have to pay extra for shipping the return alongside with the shipping fee they've initiated.. Very bad customer service!!!

I ordered the order I recieved only one email stating my order will arrive on Friday August 3 the order was delivered on Saturday afternoon about 2-3 o'clock which was too late I dont think I should be paying for shipping of the order I also need a return ship labeled to return the order back

I don't know why I can't get cash back on a return that I used my debit card with . You can get cash back only if you paid in cash but if you use your card you would have to have the card with you in order for you to get a refund that can take anywhere from 7 to 10 business days !! If you don't have the card even with a receipt they will only give you store credit !! I will not be purchasing from Party City again !

I bought some items from Party City three days ago. I lost the receipt but needed to return a few of the items. They would not look up receipt with credit card and said they can only look it up with phone number or email. This should be verbally communicated to customers when they make a purchase....and customers should not be penalized for not wanting to give out their personal info. Horrible return policy equals poor customer service.

I ordered a costume from Party City and had it two-day shipped, but never received the item. Apparently there's no way to contact anyone from the company, because my messages were never returned. I will never shop from this company again.

I am disgusted with Party City's return policy. 30 days really???? No other store gives a 30 day return policy when you have unopened items and the receipt!!! Signs on the back of the registers state that returns can be made for full refund with receipt..... nothing about the CADDY way they put a 30 day statement on their receipt. I would have settled for a store credit. I purchased birthday items for my grandson's First birthday party. Of course I put them away for safe keeping until his birthday. Of course I forgot that I purchased the items until after his party. I went to return the items today and was told to reference the 30 day return statement on the receipt. Listen my grandson Will Only Be One Once!!! How ridiculous. I will not be shopping at this Leominster, Ma store or any other Party City store again. Thank you.

I am very upset and probably will never order online through this company any longer...I paid additional shipping fees to receive my products next day air sod have time to make sure everything fit and I got the product 6 days later...and guess what? Nothing fit and it was too late to fix it at that point! I will be returning my order and I better get my 105.00$ refund back immediately!

Attempted to exchange a damaged item. Was told no because it was 1)opened, how else would I find out it was damaged if I didn't open it 2)no return on leggings where does it say that on the policy???

I purchased over $200 worth online and needed to return an unopened item. I went into the store with my emailed itemized receipt only to find out they won't accept that. They wanted to shipping paper!? They had no idea how I was supposed to return this item and I even said I would take store credit! Won't be shopping here again and will spread the word TEEEIBLE SERVICE! My emailed receipt with sku numbers should have been enough.

I am out raged! I made a purchase through Party City.com for party favors for my mom 80th birthday and I have yet to see them. Not to mention that I paid to have my shipment expedited. I cannot reach anyone by phone .

i will never order anything again from party city. I couldnt even speak to a live person when i tried to call. My order was just over thirty days old, however, it was a christmas gift and i didnt know i was going to have to return it .. I would have done so if i could have. Now i am stuck with something I do not want and cannot use. You need to be a little more flexible with your return policy. Never again. I assure you of that.

I bought a table cloth at party city at the Whitestone location, it was too big for my table. They said it is not returnable because I opened it. However I have only opened the bottom of the bag, everything else is in the original shape. Need to be more flexible on their return policy. Now I have a table cloth cost me 7.99 which I have no use of it.

I went to return a Christmas sweater today, December 14th, more than 10 days before Christmas. But because I did not have my receipt, I was told by staff that they could not look it up by the attached tag and my credit card. The guy literally asked what date did I purchase it and he would try to look it up by the date. Seriously!!!!! Upgrade your system!!!!

I've tried to exchange things that my husband bought from party city. They wouldn't let me without the receipt. I understand not doing a refund but exchange???? Come on. And I don't know if it's a race thing but the costumer that was in front of me was a Spanish lady and the got to exchange her stuff without a receipt with no problems.
