I recently went to Dollar general in Madisonville Tennessee off Hwy 411. I had purchased a $100 Verizon wireless reload card I paid for it at the register the lady had scan the card and gave me my change from the hundred and $10 that I gave her. After checking out at the register and walking back to my card I then began to call Verizon wireless to add the car to my phone service plan I then got the card out and began to scratch off the panel on the back that says scratch off for pin number. Upon doing so which I have done many times in the past five years since I became a Verizon wireless customer I realized that it was not 10 digits under the scratch-off pin number panel there was only six which instantly I knew was going to be a problem being that you must enter 10 digits when adding a reload card the scratch-off area was not scratched partially off or at all and the card was new but I want further closer investigation I noticed that it had looked like very tiny scratch marks to where underneath the scratch panel somebody head rubbed off some of the numbers don't know how this is possible but that's just what it look like and Verizon after calling customer service in explaining the problem told me that I must take the card back to the store and get my money back but on the clock card it states that there is no refunds or exchanges once purchased and Verizon refuse to fix the problem being that they told me there was no hustle away this could be basically insinuating that I was making this up for lying to them about my situation. after going to the store talking to the clerk they told me that I must contact Verizon that it was their problem or would be an issue where ever the manufacture the cards that it was out of their hands and could not do anything about it or refund my money. After it's taking a picture of the receipt and the the card I faxed it to the fax number given to me by Verizon waited the 72 hours for a reply and or phone call back. Which I never got wasn't until after I called several times a day for over a week straight did I finally get to talk to a customer service rep. Who actually was actually of some use in giving me any type of answer or explanation. Simply because all of the previous customer service reps that I spoke to probably a dozen or so either would put me on hold and then heading up or simply be of no help and very rude and tell me there was nothing they could do or any further information that they could provide on this specific issue or matter. But here it is almost two months later am yet to receive a response, refund, or credit for my 100$ dollars I spent. I was basically told that there was no possible way that this could be and it wasn't possible to refund or credit my wccount. Said I'd either have to take this matter up with the person in charge at the Dollar general where I bought the reload card at. Or simply purchase a new reload card, or make a payment using my debit or credit card over the phone with the person I was currently speaking with. I myself being super frustrated an in total disbelief that multi billion-dollar franchise companies dealt with and purchased Prada truck giving my business to for over a decade now would not so much as credit my account give me a refund or even believe the story about what happened although I gave them the facts word for word probably over two dozen times to over a dozen different representatives and probably six different store clerks at the Dollar general cuz everytime I was directed to call or go to the store again I would never get the same person and would have to explain the story from the beginning again to somebody who would then look at me as if I was crazy or some type of scam artist. After coming grips with the fact that I was not going to get anywhere with either company my hundred dollars was basically going to wind I didn't begin to do a little research of my own trying to see if there was any other similar situations like mine that somebody might have posted or talked about on the internet after searching for an hour or so I've come across several articles people who had had very similar experiences and although only one of them almost exact complaints was with with a Verizon wireless prepaid reload card which was bought at walmart. There was probably over 50 seperste complaints with a few different prepaid cards mainly all prepaid reload cards for prepaid credit cards from boss and MasterCard. An it seems that thievs an con artists/scammers do this exact type of thing to make money with the real customers like myself getting stiffed with paying the bill. Supposedly what they do to make a long story short is while a scammer is at one of these many stores that sells these prepaid reload cards. they simply take a dozen or so off of the shelf or the rack put them in their pocket being that they are basically worthless until paid for and scanned at the register with the amount of money that you want to reply to each card I suppose that even if they were caught taking these cards from the shelf and walking out the store with them there's really no loss. Horseback at their homes they then began the delicate process of removing the whole scratch off panel somehow and writing down for the pin numbers of each card that is underneath the scratch off area then they remove 3 or 4 of the numbers from the 10 digit PIN number somehow. (Probably with acetone or something similar) Once several PIN numbers are removed an the code can't be read entirely or correctly they then replace the scratch off strip back onto the card over the pin numbers, Making it look as if nothing is wrong with the card nor had ever been tampered with. They then return to the store with these cards an put them back on the rack or shelf. After this it's jus a matter of making a phonecall to see if they have got any money yet. Cause once a customer comes in the store and selects and pays for one of these cards they &quot;fixed/marked&quot; with whatever amount this customer intended on applying to their phone or prepaid credit card and then trys to add the card to there intended source. By scratching off the scratch pannel. Only then do they see and realize that there is not enough digits to provide to the automated system to add ur fundsor plan u just paid for. And while ur dealing with trying to explain ur problem or get ur money back for something that is now worthless without all the pins numbers . The their or scammer has all the cards pin numbers written down an all he does is call an check each one them cards pins each day and if someone like myself or maybe you has bought a prepaid card and not known it till it was to late that we jus gave some con artist our money willingly. And although we have a receipt for our purchase and wasn't able to use what we paid for it doesn't matter to these billion dollar franchise companies they won't help or credit you for ur loss an simply blame the company that it's for and they blame the store where u bought it an ur just out of ur hard earned money so it seems. That's what I came to the conclusion of after all my research on this matter after be the last to find out I was scammed an being so irritated in this first hand experience it brought me to write this long comment in hopes people will be aware if it was to ever happen to them an not be supplied with a overall reason or explanation of the route of the cause. Never mind the money they wish would of been reimbursed to them thank you for listening and reading hope it has done some good to someone. Your Dailey shopper <br /> Joshua J.W
