Never ceases to amaze me. Every time costco is criticized there are these trolls that come out of the woodwork saying how marvelous and wonderful they are. Must be trolls because I can't think of any other store besides costco that has so many customers to defend them. I've been a member off and on since the 80s and generally the customer service runs hot and cold just like any place but when it's bad, it's exceptionally bad. A bought a wok in store. When I got home, it had so many bad reviews I decided to return it. Then I did some research on non-stick and realized that most people were using it wrong so I wrote a lengthy review defending the product and then because the online price was the same in the store, I bought another one. Ok, well, UPS shows up at 8:30pm and then just props the box against my fence instead of opening the gate and walking the last 20 ft. I was mad as h about it so I complained online, which is frustrating as h trying to get thru their 'chat' but that's slightly better than waiting 20 mins on the phone. Then I get this agent who says basically, nothing we can do about, complain to UPS. Well, I didn't hire UPS so they couldn't care less. btw, if I order on amazon, and it's shipped by UPS, they don't pull this s. So I decide to return it, so I start a return online and when asked why I'm returning, I select "refuse delivery". The site says I'll get an email with instructions but two days later, nothing so I go on chat again and the guy says "you can't return it because it because you selected refused delivery". Huh? No, I wasn't there when it was delivered and unaware it was delivered till the next day so no I'm saying tell UPS to come pick it up. The logic here is extremely bizarre. If you select 'refuse delivery' and UPS takes the package, you wouldn't have a package to return right, so why would you start a return on something you had. But, if you got the package anyway from UPS because you had no choice over the delivery and then you selected 'refuse delivery', they won't take the package back and if you check online the item you ordered will stay in limbo, i.e. return started, forever. Unlike amazon, you can't cancel and start a new return. So anyway, the agent says I'll fix your return and then after several mins he just disconnected the chat and I was back at the beginning. It's interesting too that if you look to find out if shipping and handling is refunded, costco doesn't say it is. Rather they say "*limitations apply. check at the warehouse or costco.com" Well, guess what, there's no explanation of this on costco.com and nobody at the warehouse can answer questions about costco.com.
