I bought an item from Family Dollar. It was defective. Took it back to exchange it. Was told no due to COVID. Ok here is why that excuse is not valid even a little bit. All day every day the stores accept money. Money is the nastiest thing circulating. The stores have not one bit of problem touching it constantly. Money has been touched by soooooo many people in a weeks time. In that time that money has picked up millions of germs. It may have been under someone's sweaty breasts, in someone's smelly sock, up some drug users nose or a strippers ass crack. Money has had the bodily fluids of who knows how many people. It has been coughed on, sneezed on and handled by people who use public restrooms without washing their hands so maybe even a bit of urine. Yes stores have not one problem taking your filthy germ infested money in exchange for products that may or may not work. And when they don't work they want to act afraid of taking a product back that has been in their store most of the time and to whoever purchased it. There is no valid reason whatever for a store not to do what is required by law and replace their defective merchandise. Any store that received cash does not have that right. There are laws that protect consumers from getting screwed and Family Dollar is in violation. I see another person who the same thing happened to. I can't respond to it but I am checking into a class action suit. By law they are still obligated to exchange or refund even with COVID around. They are in complete violation of that act. I have reported them to the BBB, attorney general, CPA. I have posted on Facebook and tagged them. I want everyone to know their new policy. Shop Dollar General instead. I bought the same item there and was assured if it didn't work they would gladly exchange it or refund my money.
