Took back some slippers to Truro store , found a replacement pair that were more expensive and wanted to pay the difference. I didn't have a receipt but slippers were in original box, no price tag as they were a gift. After queueing for ages I was told that they had to be taken back to the Fraddon store with a bank statement as proof of purchase( that's where I bought them). The bank statement won't show the price as I bought several items that day. Ended up buying the replacement and taking the original slippers home. Now have to drive to Fraddon to try again for a refund, there is nothing on your policy that says the item has to be returned to the store it was purchased from. How ridiculous.
