I recently booked a cruise on Expedia. I booked the room for my son and I. We have a lot of family going on the cruise so my son opted to room with one of his cousins instead. I called expedia to move him out of my room and put my mom in the room. The cruise is 182 days away. I asked them for the senior discount for her, she's almost 80. They told me they could not give her the discount because the cruise was already booked. WHAT?!! We are over 6 months out? I am not canceling the trip but simply booking another person and they won't give her the senior rate? I'm livid. And of course I also cannot cancel and rebook it without losing my $500 deposit. This is ridiculous to me! Again, the cruise is not around the corner, I am not doing this last minute, we are 182 days out people! I am super disappointed and will not book another cruise with expedia. We cruise often will now only book directly through the cruise line.
