My kids gave me an $80 gift card for HD. I've used it for various small things. When sent to get a widget, I get there and there are 3 different kinds. So I buy all three so my ex doing the work can pick the right one, and then I return the two that were the wrong kind of widgets. In returning the wrong widgets, they ask for my ID, even though I have the receipt. So now they're treating me like a shoplifter and refusing to return any items purchased with a store credit because I've made too many returns with my ID, even though I've had the receipt for every single return. Even if only a few dollars was paid with the store credit and the major portion with my credit card, they won't take the item back. I will never shop HD again if I don't have to. I will take all my business to Lowe's. I also plan to bring this insane policy to public attention by contacting my local news station for their consumer advocate program. Anyone know of class action lawsuit? I'm extremely mad. They've wasted more of my time between return attempts and phone calls to corporate than I would like to count up.
