The strangest thing happened to me while doing a return.
I purchase at Michaels at least once a week. I am a crafter and spend about $175-$300 at Michael's monthly on my charge.
I received a basket of things from Michael's as a gift from a few friends for my birthday. Some were duplicates so I went to exchange a couple of the items. After they entered my license it stopped the exchange saying I am not allowed to return without a receipt as I reached my return limit. I had only returned 2 other times within a year with no receipt as I had misplaced the receipt. Those 2 returns totaled $62.78. Today's exchange was for $17.00 and I was told I reached my return limit when I have credit card bills totaling $2,427 in a year of purchases at Michaels. When the sales person called the manager, she came out and humiliated me in front of a line full of customers telling me I've returned too much and they won't let me return anymore.
The management is unprofessional and the company apparently is not concerned about keeping customers. There are other places to shop who are competitive and will match prices. Goodbye Michaels. For returning a total of $75 in one year you lost a customer who spent over $2400 per year!!
