I've noticed that Home Depot has been putting "max refund value" on the receipt for items purchased...and it shows a 9.3% reduction. So, if I purchase $100 worth of anything, the most I will get back if I return it because it didn't fit, didn't work, or wasn't needed (one always purchased more fittings than needed, of course),the most I'll get back is $93.30. Is this a store-wide policy or is it directed at certain individuals? I purchase $20,000+ worth of materials a couple years ago for complete remodel and returned a couple hundred $ worth at end of project (they weren't too pleased). Are they punishing me or is this for everyone?
