Recently booked & paid for a room through Expedia in Lawrence, KS. A storm had blown through & upon check-in, there was no electricity. The front desk told us it was expected to be back on in about an hour. Initially, we went ahead & checked-in. However, our dog was traveling w/us & so about 10 minutes later we returned to the front desk to cancel our stay & just drive back home. The gentleman at the front desk assured us we would not be expected to pay, even though we had not cancelled within the allotted time frame. I called the hotel for my refund & they did not refund the amount & told me I had to contact Expedia. I completed the survey & notified Expedia of the situation. As of yet, I do not have my refund & am not sure how or if I will receive it!
