So far so good for my 3 years of using expedia im so satisfied with thier service. However just had some problems of thier customer representatives because sometimes i need to adjust my understanding on what they are saying about thier policy. I really dont use Travel insurance cause it still come with some restriction especially for a flight only well except for a package where you can cancel the reservation for any reasons. But i now understand that it will be the airline who imposed those charge and policies.And so far in hotel reseravation i really choose a Refundable room so that if i change my plans i can still cancel my reservation. If you really are having some serious problem with your booking just ask for a supervisor rather than continue explaining it to the first answering agent
