I returned items more than a week ago in-store with receipts in hand. I have yet to receive my refund which was to be credited back to my credit card. If I'd known it would take this long, I would have taken the cash pay out.

I was charged $18.40 for two small wooden letters that would only have been $2.99 each without the 60%. But apparently the cashier read $22.99 instead of $2.99. How am I supposed to get my $$ back?!? I needed these letters today and even if I walked in to attempt a 'return' they would say they aren't on my receipt, since you guys don't actually scan anything and just look at the base price of something...

I have had 2 disappointing experiences with Hobby Lobby and will now purchase from Joann's. I was at the Wayzata, Minnesota store this Christmas and inquired about getting the 40% coupons. The cashier was very unhelpful so I found a manager. He was so bitter, snappy and rude that I was stunned!! What a terrible representation of a religious company!! As believers we should be shini ng the light of Christ and treating people with a smile, kindness, respect & understanding. Another time I was at the Waite Park, MN store and returned an item without a receipt. The cashier called a manager over and he looked at the item and told me I didn't buy it from Hobby Lobby. He said they didn't carry that product...so I went right to the shelf, found the same item and brought it to him. He made me feel like a criminal! I've read many similar complaints and you've got to change your attitude if you want to stay in business! You should be holding yourselves to a higher standard and making a positive impact instead of turning people away! I'm sure you have some great employees...but don't let the unpleasant ones ruin it!

I had a return without a receipt after Christmas. I had the credit card with me that I used to purchase the items. I was nervous after reading all of the comments but I am happy to say that the return went smoothly!

I made a purchase at around 9 am this morning for a few things for Christmas . within just a few hours i get a email that my order has successfully been cancelled . No reason for why it was cancelled or nothing . im not happy i have no vehicle so i cant just go to the store and these were very important Christmas presents. Not cool hobby lobby you lost another customer because of this ignorance !

I received my first online order and it was beet to death and it is the worst return service I think that they hope you will just go away I will never order anything else from them again!!!! Stay away from them you will be disputed.

My first and only purchase from Holly Lobby will most certainly be my last! I ordered what I thought was going to be a perfect outside bench cushion. It turned out to be the wrong size and I wanted to return it and filled out the return form and my husband took it to UPS. Only problem was the bench cost me $29.99 + $8.95 (2.00) shipping to purchase and UPS charge was going to be over $67 because the box was 18 x 5 1/2 x 45!!! So, NO, didn't do that ? After reading the return policy again, I will be taking it back to my local Hobby Lobby, but I am not going to be happy about getting a store credit!

This is not true. I bought a Brother Sewing/Embroidery Machine 18 days ago. I tried to return it today and I was told that the store in Collierville, TN is not allowed to accept returns of Brother products and I would have to contact the manufacturer. I am sure that I will not get my money back and I will be left with a machine that already after 18 days has problems that will require that I take it to a Brother authorized dealer to repair.

I just got my transparent card box for my business, one of them is cracked. this is my first time ordering from this company. I pray that they can give me another one at the same price. I am unsure what to think about this transaction. I will be calling on Monday during business hours too , try and get this matter resolved. will come back and let you guys know.

BE AWARE that Hobby Lobby DOES NOT give a credit card refund for items bought online and returned at the store. You will get a store credit instead. They should let the customers know before finalizing the order online about this policy. Very disappointed!

Posted by Disappointed customer

I attempted to return an item I purchased online. I had ID, the online order info, the packing slip, the card I purchased with, and the item was new/unused. The rep at the checkout claimed online orders can only be eligible for store credit and refused to process a return, just an "exchange" and gave me store credit only. I wanted and requested a return, I asked her why they didn't tell people they were going to refuse to do returns prior to purchases and she wouldn't even answer me. This occurred on 12/14 in Wilmington, NC

I recently returned some items I did not need and when I noticed the refund applied back to the card I used, I did not receive the full refund that was listed on the receipt.

I ordered 7 Crosses for Christmas. The box arrived damaged and 4 of the 7 Crosses we broken...The Crosses were NOT packaged correctly, just thrown in the box with bubble wrap on top that it.

I jus had the worst experience of my life. I am an an avid crocheted. I had some yarn I wanted to exchange. Hobby lobby wouldn't take it back because it smelled like smoke. Does hobby lobby kno what discrimination is. I think that is a perfect example of discrimination. It wasn't the cashiers fault it was a person named leslie. I think that's discrimination

I ordered the moterized robot, andI got A INVENT A STEAR SOLAR LAMP. It was also a return, it has tape ane225-8-3 on the front. It is very difficult for us to get to the store to return it. Thankas, XZ

I have shopped at Hobby Lobby since they first opened in our area. A lot of people have complaints about them and their refunds and issuing refunds or exchanges. I guess it's just in the areas that they're buying them because in our area I have never had a problem exchanging refunding or something quit the day after I bought it or the next day like a clock they were more than willing to help. I don't think it's the company I think it's just the attitude of managers employees in the area that you shop

Posted by Ucandobetter

I would have to agree with some of the other disgruntled folks. I ordered a 3 tiered shelf online feeling safe because I knew the company and knew that I could return it to the store if something was wrong and lo and behold I can only get store credit if I take it to the store. But if I understand it right because I opened the box looks like I cant return it? I know I'm not going to be buying anything online again for sure.

I made a purchase on 9/25/20, paid in cash, had to return the item on 9/26/20, and they only gave me $6.37, instead of $6.39. They stated it was due to the national coin shortage. I asked if they could not just issue a store credit for the full amount, the person in charge said they could not. I realize this is only 2 cents, however, if they do this on all returns, then this is adding to their bottom line. I also can't believe they did not have 2 cents in any of the other cash registers. This will definitely make me shop at Michael's from now on.
I hope you all enjoy your 2 cents that you kept from me.

Don't trust HL to stand by their products any more than the promises they would make as a so called Christian company. How many of their products come from Communist China, a militant, atheist dictatorship? Perhaps this speaks volumes about their values and the almighty dollar.

Posted by Anonymous

It is next to impossible to return anything to HOBBYLOBBY. The hoops that one has to jump through is not worth it. I will know next time that HOBBYLOBBY does NOT stand behind their products. That is a great Christian company for you. Amazon will take their products back with no question asked.

I am so disappointed to discover that Hobby Lobby will not accept a sewing machine back if you have opened the box. How does this possibly make sense?? how can you find out the machine is faulty or the machine is not what you thought, without opening the box?? I truely don't understand this! If you cannot back a product better than this, don't sell it!

How long does it take to be issued a refund? I took my items in with my receipt and still havent received refund. Not a check, a card.

Thanks for nothing hobby lobby! Took two weeks to get a response and you still haven't addressed my request!!!! I need a copy of the original invoice sent with my product! I didnt Realize when I ordered from hobby lobby.com that this company still operates the way companies did decades ago! I threw away that stupid piece of paper that came in the package with my items!!! Had I known a literal piece of GOLD were enclosed with my order I would have retained it and kept it in a sacred place. Thanks for nothing. Worst customer service available!

Purchase a paint by number(lighthouse) for my daughter and it horrible...
The paint not the best plus you still see the number after painting...looks nothing like the picture on box..
After looking into it everyone give it 1 star..
Don't waste your money on this product

I placed an order on the 5th and hobby lobby cancelled my order and never notified me! The items are still available online so it isn't stock issues. What happened?!

Posted by Jesmine Slone

Did not receive part of order. Emailed, no response. Called and a message said Hobby Lobby wasn't taking phone calls and to email them. So I emailed them a second time. Still no response weeks later. The nearest Hobby Lobby is an hour away, and I'm afraid if I go there they will still not help me. Very disappointed in Hobby Lobby's customer service.

I ordered some craft items at the beginning of May. When I received my package (about a week later), they had sent me someone else's order. We attempted to contact Hobby Lobby that day via email, and did not receive any response. I followed up a week ago with another email and still haven't received any response from the company regarding rectifying the situation. Will not be using Hobby Lobby for future purchases.

I placed an order and Hobby Lobby cancelled it a week later. I contacted the company & no one has gotten back to me yet. It has been a week & I still have not received my refund or a response to my inquiry.

I received my online package today, a 16"x20" picture frame. The outside packaging was stamped fragile but on opening I found the glass in smithereens. I went to the return information web site, described my situation and was directed to the next page which said I had to pay $1.00 to continue the process! You are asking me to pay for an error in packaging? Is this a Christian organization or not? I am shocked! HELP!

Posted by Anonymous

I purchased on online product. I went to the store to do an even exchange. they would not take it back!!!WHY ??????

Posted by dchosch65

I bought four pictures frames, one was 16x20 frame the glass was broke the others 3 were packed properly in the boxes & did not break.

Posted by Anonymous

I ordered some items online and my packages arrived separately, even though the invoice in the box said it was all together. Once my second package arrived my item was broken. I emailed customer service about a week ago and never heard back from them, I am very displeased.

Posted by Natasha Bass

I placed an order on 4/10 & received everything fine except one item was broken. I emailed & received a reply that I would have to answer a series of questions & then attach pictures of the busted item. I did so & have heard nothing back since. I've sent 2 more follow up emails as well & still nothing. Very disappointed with Hobby Lobby & their customer service & will Not likely shop online or in store again.

There is no form on the website to return items. How are you supposed to know how to return??? I am not paying for return shipping fees when I received damaged product

No one is responding to the emails I have sent.

I received my online orders. Three of my items are broken and damaged.

I am waiting to hear how I can return my items, and I do not want to have to pay for shipping.

i dont get how you return something, says fill out return form....WHERE IS THIS FORM????

I NEED TO KNOW HOW I CAN RETURN MY ORDER

I ordered on line 12 yds of trim for curtains and received the wrong order after waiting for a month to receive it. I am trying to return the item that is not what I ordered but did not find anything related to a shipping label to return the item so I don't have to pay for shipping something that I did not order. I have gone to all the customer support links and can't find anything related to shipping back something that I did not order without having to pay for shipping. I am so dissapointed in Hobby Lobby. I know another lady is waiting for her order that I received as her name is on the package. Maybe she got my order!

I am so upset about an order that I placed on march 24 which was way before the stores closed down. I bought fabric from the store in Howell but they did not have the total amount of fabric needed. I found out that the store in Holmdel had 3 yards and the store in Englishtown had 3 yards but instead of driving around so far I decided to order the fabric online for 6 yards. I was told it was available and for about two weeks when I checked the order they said it was being processed then it said it was being delivered but never came . Finally I got a message saying it was shipped then a day later a message saying my fabric wasn't available. So now the stores are closed. And i made two windows with the fabric but can't match the fabric since you don't have it. Why did it t are so long to tell me you did't have the fabric. If I'd know when I initially iordered it I could have gone to get it from the stores. So almost a month later I don't have the fabric. Can you order it or at least notify the two stores that have it and have it held for me till this is over? I also am returning 4 rolls of ribbon since it took so long to get that i don't need them now and i have to pay for the shipping again. It is ridiculous!

Posted by Anonymous

The fact that I have to PAY for return shipping and cannot return to the store means I will NEVER order online again. Hopefully, I can find a way to get the return form. Not a friendly site at all.

Who sends out a craft with 235 pics & only pictures for instructions. I feel ripped off

I have the product and the receipt but the box was thrown away before I realized the issue could I still exchange the item for one that is fixed or do I need the box?

Posted by Anonymous

I can't get anyone to call me; left two cell numbers for a call back after being on hold left an email request and since Store is closed I have a broken item sent to me from your online orders! I'm so upset by this!

Posted by Lol

I'm wondering about the store, are they doing adjustment of price? Cause i went there to adjust price with receipt i was told by them we need items to check, i did not find any store like that. Everywhere price matching is very easy if you have receipt.

Posted by Brandon Scott DeWitt

I have a receipt for my product and only had it for 2 days and everything's in it and I have a receipt and it's $111 and it's a telescope and it won't let me take it back and Hobby Lobby cuz they said the box was bent. Identity and it ain't no damn. I wish I can show you the snow didn't know nothing to give me problems about taking my item back because my son came in at 17 years old.

My Daughter Went To Hobby Lobby In Lakewood, Cal. And Bought An Embroidery Machine Spent $437.99 Dollars Took It Home Opened It And It Was Missing A Piece That Made It Work. Took It Back And They Refused To Exchange Or Refund Her. Very Rude And Disappointed With This Store. How Would She Of Known It Was Not Operable Had She Not Opened It. Out A Whole Lot Of Money.

Purchased a Cricut Air 2 from Hobby Lobby. I specifically asked the employees working there several times if I would return the item if I didn't like it. I was told each time that, yes, if I tried it and I didn't like it, I could absolutely return it. He also went so far as to say I probably wouldn't want to return it because I'd love it. Well, today, not even a week after my purchase, I tried to return the machine. I was told I couldn't and that their new corporate policy is not returns on Cricut items. The store manager apologized and said that she would make sure that it was a training issue and the associate should have never told me they would accept a return on it. Well, wow that was an almost $250 training mistake for ME! I'm now stuck with a machine I don't want because the manager failed to train her employees about the new return policy?! I will shop from Amazon from now on.

I went to Hobby Lobby to return some Faber Castell Graphite pencils i purchased. i came in with my receipt, the cashier asked me "have you used them?" i said i use 8B. she said, well i Can't return them because you used them...she called her manager, the manager came and said the same thing that she cannot return them since they're used. the manager said the only thing she can do is offer me half price i paid for it. the cashier nicely said, "Oh you're better off keeping them." their return policy says nothing about "opened items cannot be accepted" their return policy is fraud, they do that to every customer who tries to return something, even the item is unopened, they still don't wanna take it back

Extremely rude service. Bought a sewing machine and had asked about the return policy before I bought it and was told as long as I had a receipt and returned within 90 days I'm good.
Once home I Realized it was the wrong kind and tried to return it the next day and was rudely told by the manager that even though I was given the wrong info about the return policy that I couldn't return it through them.

Posted by Kimgdmn

I was given 2 copies of the same devotional book for Christmas. I went in to return them. The Manager said they "don't return books because of copyright laws" I challenged her on that saying their return policy says nothing about it. That clearly the books were brand new. Not even read. She reluctantly gave me a store credit which was fine with me.
Pays to know return policy's before you walk in.

I purchased a few home decor items and artificial flowers however I almost instantly regretted it... I'm very indecisive anyways the next day I returned them along with rocks and vase and wasn't even asked a reason of return. Customer service rep was very polite and quick and had absolutely no issues. Thank you

Not a fan of online shopping at hobby lobby. Customer service is poor and unable to return In store according to their website makes it highly unlikely I would order online again.

I have been shopping at the NH Hobby Lobby for a long time. I will now be taking my business to Michael's instead. I walked in to return a few items that had been opened and used but were defective. And was VERY rudely told that I would not get a refund and that I was out of luck. I told them to throw the items away as I could not use them and they were useless to me. I called customer service to let them know that the products I bought was defective and how rudely I was talked to by TWO managers as well as some kid behind the counter. I got a call back from customer service and was told "that the art department manager said she would happy exchange the products but I was DEMANDING my money back and how she was explaining to me how I used the product wrong and how the ink reservoir had too much ink"...Yea..no. I have been doing calligraphy for over ten years..I think I know how to work a dip pen and ink. The way in was talked to in the store in front of other people was absolutely disgusting and embarrassing.. I will NEVER EVER shop here again. I will get my craft products from Michael's and Amazon!

Everyone, please be careful and really look at your receipt once you're done paying and checking out (while you're still at the store). This is the second time I've been overcharged, since they checkout manually sans scanning a UPC. I purchased 5 stockings for Christmas and I was charged for 6. How does one even prove that they made a mistake and overcharged me and how do I even prove that I left with only 5 stockings? I came back to return the 5 stockings and mention that they charged me for 6. It's hard to prove it on both ends.

Went in store to return some items I purchased online. Was told by the manager that I could only get store credit for returns. I asked her where it says that because it clearly does not state that anywhere. She called her supervisor I guess, who said that refunds for online purchases can either be processed in the form of store credit or cash back. Got my cash back, but employees shouldn't try and force you to take store credit and lie and say that is the only option.

The Holy Family statue Item #5437181 is absolutely beautiful. I am so looking forward to a replacement of this item that came broken in the box. It came in a large box with a ceramic cookie jar and 5 heavy ceramic ornaments. The statue is hollow and was wrapped only in bubble wrap and arrived broken. I want a replacement and it is worth the wait.

Horrible customer service. They don't care about their own return policy. Very bad experience, will stay away

I purchased 2 chair and small table and never used it, decided to return it back but the rude King Of Prussia store manager who was so disrespectful did not refund it while I had receipt and merchandise tags and returning it within the return policy. I was never experienced such a horrible experience anywhere. I won't shop at this store anymore. I have art store and used to purchase a lot from them but I will stay away from now on and will let my customer and friends know about my bad experience with this store.

I have been shopping at my local Hobby Lobby in NY since opening less than 2 years ago. I have returned some items with a receipt within there return policy with no issues. some comments are of negative experiences, but what I dislike is why people are bringing religion into it. Just because the owner or CEO is Christian does not mean that they ONLY hire Christian employees. I'm certain that no employer is or can ask for your religion or sexual preference. Can we just agree that there are people who or not nice or having a bad day no matter what race, religion or sex?? Please STOP bringing religion into it as it has no relevance. Thank you & have a great day

Whatever you do, do not buy a Cricut machine at Hobby Lobby. I purchased one less than 24 hours ago, never opened it, but then found a better deal online so went to return the (unopened) machine to the store. According to their policy as long as you have the unopened product and original store receipt they will accept the return. The extremely rude manager told me she could not accept the product and blamed Cricut for a recent change. Well, I walked out to the car to get Cricut on the phone. She was incorrect and simply trying to turn me away. I will not visit this store again.

I recently was ambitious and decided to do a large craft day and purchased over 50 wreathes. After doing a dozen or so crafts I gave up and ended up wanting to return almost 40 of them. I came online and was rather discouraged reading how horrible everyone's experience was with returning items. I had absolutely no issue, it was the easiest return process I've ever had with a craft store and our store here in franklin WI truly went above and beyond giving exceptional service! Thank you hobby lobby, you have a lifetime shopper!

I am extremely unhappy that I received an order of 12 balls of thread with 3 different dye lots. I ordered because my store and several around me, did not have that quantity. As a knitter and crocheter, dye lot is very important! If I wanted different dye lots, I would have just purchased it from several stores.

I love Hobby Lobby never had a problem at our store in Huntsville Texas, I have returned items with all the negatives in the comments I thought I would write a good review keep up the great work and customer service
And I love that they close on Sundays and holidays for employees to spend with families

Worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. Will not be going back. I bought 8 pieces of greenery for a bouquet, I always tend to over buy. When I tried to return the greenery they told me two were damaged and I would not get a refund on them. They sold them to me that way. The Assistant Managaer, Karla was very rude. Does not know the meaning of customer service. I refuse to be treated that way and will not be going back.

I tried to return a piece of fabric today at my local Hobby Lobby. I bought it two weeks ago, had both receipts, the handwritten one that shows the yardage, plus the cash register receipt. First off, getting a refund on fabric is a hassle because they make you go to the fabric counter first so they can measure it to be sure it is all there. Then, they refused to give me a refund because the fabric was only 3/4 of a yard, which is the amount that I purchased. They told me they won't refund any fabric that is less than 1 yard because they could only resell it as a remnant. I asked 3 different employees to show me where in their return policy does it state this. Each one of them frowned at me and never responded to my question. Since they did take back the two non fabric items that I returned, I didn't press it any longer. Though I left there feeling very annoyed because nowhere in their return policy does it state that they won't accept fabric returns that are less than one yard.

I purchased a light cover for my sons room thinking it was a single and realized it was a double (just bought a new house). I returned it not even to weeks later and didn't have the receipt and store credit and half off was fine. But the manager made a nasty face and said they hadn't carried that product in months. I said I just purchased it. She refused to accept that, so I said fine let me show you and I walked through it he store on my own and got another one which was right there with several other ones. I spend thousands of dollars there for my business too. So now I go to Michaels and JoAnn's as much as possible. Manager didn't even apologize or anything. She was basically calling me a liar. This was at the Denton, TX store!

I was worried after reading all these comments. I called ahead and talked to one of the store managers at my local HL and told her what I wa Ted to take back that I had the receipt and the item was still sealed. She said let her check that the still carry the item and wanted to know how I played. I had used debit card, and I had purchased the item Saturday (it is now Monday) she said that she couldn't make any guarantees over the phone but it looked like it was possible. I went in and it was handled very politely and quickly and right as I walked out of the store and to my car the money was already pending in my bank account. I just wanted to share this positive experience so maybe someone else wont be as scared to take an item back as I had been.

Does anyone know if they will allow you to return a custom ordered frame?

I've been reading all the comments about returns, my first time shopping experience at hobby lobby it was a nightmare I bought a sign that probably was broken already I bought a couple days ago unfortunately I was trying the art sign on the wall and it did break ,I wonder for how long do they keep the stuff cos supposed to be a new item it shouldn't be braked at first. I've buy art crafts a different crafts store and I never have problem before I didn't check the sign art before buying it got back to the store with my receipt a couple days ago they didn't want to at least give me store credit I'm not going back to this store anymore I lost $14 I'm not happy with it

Thought I would be okay bringing back some items that did not work with receipts but yet could not get refunded or exchanged because I had wrote a check and drove a ways not very happy at all but yet they would refund an item I brought back with no receipt? Really?

NEVER AGAIN WILL I DARKEN THE DOOR OF A HOBBY LOBBY. Purchased a cricut machine, opened it, never used it, decided I didn't want it. They will not issue a refund since it has been opened. This policy is not posted at the time of purchase.

As always, I wish I had seen these comments before making a purchase. They sold me a pound of rancid bees wax and then refused to refund it, with receipt, because it was open. How else would I have known it was a substandard product? Phony Christians.

I have made MANY returns to Hobby Lobby here in Utah without a hitch. They are kind and professional. I'm sure there are individual employees that can be a problem, but I have yet to meet one at Hobby Lobby. I imagine I will at some time though - it definitely happens and it can be very frustrating. As far as being a "Christian" owned store, they are still a business, not a charity.

Posted by Done with Hobby Lobby

NOT A CHRISTIAN ATTITUDE! After spending thousands of dollars at this store over the years as a room mother, girl scout leader, camp craft coordinator, etc, I finally had to return something. The manager was extremely rude and said the product (less than $3.00) was too old. That's fine, but it was the raised voice and the nasty look that got me. Another time I did not have my 40% off coupon and asked the clerk if she had one that I could use. "No" was the answer. Of course, they have them. I don't think they even keep them, they throw them away. I went home and printed out dozens of discount coupons and went back to the store and asked everyone I saw if they needed a coupon. If this man (the founder) is supposed to love Christ so much he can't be open on Sundays and plays Christian music in the store, perhaps he should walk the walk and not just talk the talk (and take the profits he gets for exploiting religion).

Wouldn't return an open package of pony beads I bought two days ago. And the woman at the register was incredibly rude, she said "are these even ours?" I said "look at the receipt." Lost a faithful customer today, I shop for myself and my school. A.c Moore Joann's and Michaels have all the same products and better customer service.

I am so appreciative to Ms. Rey for her kind and very helpful service today on exchanging merchandise online. She was patient and considerate as I explained my dilemma and worked immediately to help me to receive an exchange. I am very impressed with Hobby Lobby's customer service over the phone. Thank you!!

I purchased a Prismacolor Premier marker that was in the display section labeled for brush tip markers. Seeing as the actual marker did not label the tips (and I was in a bit of a hurry that day), I grabbed it and went on my way. It was only when I got back home that I found it was NOT, in fact, a brush tip, but was actually a chisel tip. I went to go see if I could exchange it or get some sort of refund, but I was denied. I was told I couldn't return an open product, but the single Prismacolor markers in the store were not sealed. This one pen cost me $5, which is expensive for a single one. Not as expensive as Copic markers but not cheap either. Very much dissatisfied with this purchase and will no longer be buying markers from Hobby Lobby. If I got the wrong thing because the store made a stocking error, I should be able to get my money back or something.

On 9/2/17 we purchased a Christmas tree from Hobby Lobby. On 12/15/18 we noticed the top section of the tree was burnt out. I contacted the Polygroup phone number and they said they couldn't proceed without a receipt, which I didn't have. I was able to call Hobby Lobby corporate and provide them with the purchase date, amount, store, and last 4 of my card number and they emailed me a copy of the receipt. Polygroup was then able to process the warranty and is mailing me the necessary parts for free.

Bought my wife a cricket from hobby lobby in Angola, In. Had to open it obviously to check it out and it doesnt work. Hobby Lobby would not let us return the broke piece of crap because we opened it, lol. Hobby Lobby's return policy is an absolute joke we will never shop there again. 5 thumbs down!!!!!

Maybe it depends on location? After reading all the feedback I got nervous. But I had zero trouble with my returns in Florida. I didn't even have the receipt on me, and they gave my return in cash. It was a smooth process for me.

I went to hobby lobby in Stockton CA as a first time customer and spent $400 on the new cricut maker (never owned any cricut product before). We asked up front if this item could be returned, and they said yes with a receipt. here is hobby lobby's return policy... Hobby Lobby welcomes returns accompanied by an original sales receipt and customer ID within 90 days of purchase. Store credit, a merchandise exchange or a refund in the original form of payment will be issued. Check purchases require a waiting period of 10 calendar days for a refund. Hobby Lobby may refuse any return without a receipt (we were standing there with receipt in hand). We tried to return this machine broken right out of the box (we had it for 2 days) and were told by store managers at the Stockton and Lodi CA locations that their policy did not apply to cricut product (while that is not in their written policy nor is it posted anywhere or even mentioned to you during the purchase), while they said the opposite during the purchase. One of the managers got cricut on the phone with us and they refused any kind of refund as well. So we have a $400 product broken right out of the box and neither the manufacturer or the store that sold it will do anything at all to help... If you are thinking of doing business with cricut or hobby lobby, I strongly suggest you re-consider. We were treated with absolute disregard. It takes me quite a while to earn $400, this is not over.

Tonight, 7/14/18, I was checking out as the store was closing. I purchased a wooden stenciled wreath but it was left at the register. Once I got home I tried calling but there was no answer (as I figured given the drive home being 20 minutes) but I was hoping there would be an answering machine at least to leave a message. Being Saturday night the store won't be open until Monday. I'm hoping I won't have a problem picking the item up later. Not sure what to do to prove it was left at the store.

Cashier Angelique is the rudest person I have ever met she must not like her job at all. You should not be working customer service if you don't know how to treat customers. She acted like I was bugging her and to top it off I called her out on being rude and she started arguing with me who does that?

I don't get the point of offering a 90 day return policy if you will not honor it. I was within my 90 days and had the receipt for my purchase but was still refused a refund my because the fabric was wrinkled. Many years I have worked in customer services (sales) and never acted this way towards customers. I would understand if I was outside of the 90 days or breaking some type of policy for their returns but I wasn't, I was compliant. I don't see anywhere it says I can't return fabric because it's wrinkled. Not only was I refused a refund but had a lady in the fabric department named Barbra, mumbling smart remarks underneath her breath. That was very unprofessional for staff to treat me that way. You have definitely lost a customer for poor customer service and will never spend money here again. I'll be sure to tell my friends and family to not shop here ever again unless they want to be treated like trash. Michaels is a whole lot better!!

Most cashiers are ok, but the front managers are often distasteful and do not treat customers well. I signed up for emails multiple times and have not received any yet.

I purchased a lot of yarn with my debit card a week ago. Today, they've advertised that all yarn is 30% off. I'd planned on returning the yarn and repurchasing most of it at the lower price. After reading these comments, it sounds like I should tread carefully and probably just cross Hobby Lobby off my list of stores to shop at. Michael's is right next door, so, I'll shop there!

The returns policy is a f#*#ing joke. My parents bought a krycut machine got home opened it and most of the parts were missing so they immediately returned it less then an hour later and were refused a refund and swap out for different one. So pretty much my parents are out 300 fu*#*ng dollars. How can you refuse to do a thing about it but offer a 90 day return policy with receipt.

Customer service manager was very rude, no smil rude. Some cashiers are very rude
You need to be sure when you buy anything from hobby Lobby.

Hobby lobby has the worst return policy. We received a puzzle as a Christmas gift. We asked to exchange it for another picture/design.
They said they stopped ordering this design in June and would not take it back with out the receipt. We explained it was a gift and that just because they stopped ordering it that the product was still on the shelf fort purchase at Christmas time.
It was new and still in plastic wrap.
They offered 0.00 fort their product that was our purchased gromm their store. All we wanted was an even exchange. They refused.
We spoke with management at their corporate office who also refused.

Sorry hobby lobby but you do not have a Christian attitude that your store image portrays when it comes to returns.
You have lost my business and will share my experience will fellow Christians

Bought a pre-lit Christmas tree that quit working after three weeks. The store told me they think that tree must have been defective because they had two other people return the same one. BUT they will not let me return mine because they don't have any more of this particular tree and they will not give me back my money. It's going to be really fun packing up and shipping a huge Christmas tree for warranty service. I think I'll just throw it away and get a real tree next year. What a bummer. I will not be shopping at Hobby Lobby any more.

I just tried to return some fabric to Hobby Lobby. I had the receipt. My return was refused because I didn't have the "pink receipt" from the fabric department. Apparently, the SKU# next to the price isn't an indicator of what you actually received. Back home I went. Dug through threee waste baskets and two trash bags which had the remnants of mine and my son's Christmas crafting extravaganzas. I found the "pink receipt." The Pink Receipt has NOTHING relating to which fabric was cut. It is handwritten. It has the yardage - "1" and a price next to it. This is less info than appears on the receipt. My son bought the fabric there. I haven't shopped there since they decided to fight the ACA provisions for their employees on "religous grounds." I just added another reason why I won't shop there - ever.

I realized I got charged 27.99 for an item that was priced 4.99... I questioned the cashier but she replied with "yeah this kind of stuff is expensive." Not thinking more on it, and agreeing, I stupidly didn't check the receipt and threw it out. Just now when I'm starting my project, I realized the error. Of course, it's hard not to make that kind of mistake when the cashier TYPES IN ALL THE PRICES? Seriously, why isn't there a barcode system at Hobby Lobby?? This seems ludicrous to me. Checking out always takes ages. I know I won't be able to bring this up without a receipt, so I'm just sharing my experience to warn my fellow crafters.

I've never had a problem returning anything to Hobby Lobby but because they have alternating 50% off sales each week and the 40% mobile coupon you HAVE To KEEP your RECEIPT. I ALWAYS put mine on the fridge until I'm sure I don't need to return. They have to be strict on the 50% return without receipt because wayyy too many people would try to get over. But yes, I do agree there have been a couple locations where they seem untrusting of my need to return.

Think this is a bad policy and an inconvenice to your customer not to be able to return to a local store merchandise that was placed on line and the wrong
merchandise received.
This is my first order I have ever placed on line,
must say I am disappointed. Know errors are made,
but in this case feel as Customer should be able to return to a local store.

I called corporate after my unopened fondant return was not accepted. They called the manager, called me back promptly, and told me to return to the store for a refund. The original cashier was very rude so another cashier took over and was very kind while processing my return.

I didn't realize I could not return my online purchase to a store - that is crazy and I will think twice about going to Hobby Lobby. I would never purchase anything from them online - why would you if you cannot return to store. They need to fix this problem if they want to have happy customers or a successful online business.

Can I exchange an item without an original receipt?

Try to return a item with a receipt but they said i couldnt return it plus employee was rude about it. Dont believe they actually do returns or exchange so be wary when buying.

I had 2 seperate returns that we didnt have receipts for, however, we shop these stores ALL THE TIME, and several employees recognized and acknowledged us as we shop. We returned the items to the purchase location, and on both returns, we were given an exchange gift card. When I tried to use the first one, it stated funds depleted. Per card balance funds were never loaded. Its been almost almost 30 days, been treated like a thief, embrassed by the employees in front of other customers. Now just to make a point, i did the 2nd return and given an exchange gift card. Later the same day as i tried to use it, and of course "funds depleted"! They have no intention of correcting this either! This is theft, this is fraud, its extremely poor customer service. And if Levi in corporate office insinuates im a thief ONE MORE TIME, I WILL SUE THIS COMPANY! I have filed a complaint with MO Atty General. They commit fraud daily and steal from their customers. I have $265 in useless cards, outta pocket $265 for original purchase. Hobby Lobby received their merchandise back and plus kept the money from purchase! Im contacting an! attorney

Ordered fabric On Line and silly me, I thought I could just return it to the store as it wasn't the fabric I thought it would be. Again, silly me.. did not even think to read their return policy! Drove 20+ miles to our nearest store and low and below.. no return. I went back to the fabric dept and there was the exact fabric. But still not able to return it at store level. Returned it via UPS and my refund came through almost $11.00 short of my purchase.. they kept shipping which I'm assuming was less than the $ they took from me. Will never order On Line from them again.

I bought with debit card and pin. Returned the next day with reciept and merchandise. Going to take 7-10 days to get my money. It took 2 seconds to take it out but 7-10 days to get it back. I will never step foot back in one of your stores and anything I have at my house from hobby lobby will be taking to goodwill. Word of mouth goes a long way. I hope Micheals bankrupts you.

i had purchased items for a gender reveal party that had to be cancelled since the baby's gender wasn't known. I had probably 4 different receipts. As the cashier was going thru the merchandise a checking off the items She notices the dates on them and sarcastically tells me that they can't take the items back because of the 90 day policy. And tossed some items around saying "We don't even selll this anymore ". I said " Really? Because I was in here in the other day and y'all still was selling it ". After her rude attitude she took back 2 receipts wuth a total of 4 items equallying $12.04. What added to my already frustration (due to her attitude) was that 3 of my receipts were purchased on the same day but she only took one back. She gave me a migraine. I will not be back in there again. Such poor customer service. If she would have just explained the policy in a polite manner I would have been ok

Very upset at hobby lobby today. Came in to return a metal item that I discovered was broken. I was asked at the door if I had my receipt upon entry and I replied yes and left the item up front. Went and got another one off the shelf and noticed that there was another broken one there. Picked up a good one and waited in line. I saw the girl talking with a mgr and he walked over to me holding the item and asked If I had my receipt. It was very embarrassing to have to discuss a return WHILE YOU ARE IN LINE with other people on both sides waiting to check out. Showed Mgr on their posted sign that a receipt was not required on exchanges. He never got it. I got very upset because I felt like I was doing something wrong. Ended up demanding and getting a refund because of the way it was handled by them. Long time customer, but I will never allow myself to spend another dime with them. I am going to miss going in there.

I have never purchased from a store where if U purchase with cash or pin debit and return something, U cant get cash back. I purchased well over $100 worth of items from Hobby Lobby for 2 projects I was working on for my children. I always purchase with cash or pin debit if I think I might need to return a few items so I dont have to wait up to 7 days to get my money back. I understand if something is purchased with credit, the refund must go back on the card. But, when you purchase with pin debit, that is basically the same as cash. I have never had a store deny me cash back on a pin debit purchase til I had to return something at Hobby Lobby. They demanded I put it on the card. It was only $46 out of the "WELL OVER $100" purchase. So, I now have to wait up to 7 days to get my money. On top of this, Hobby Lobby makes you feel like a criminal by sceutinizing everything and having to have a manager present. I immediately walked down to Jo Ann Fabrics to return my extra items that i purchased there 4 this project. I had no trouble there getting cash for my pin debit purchase. Then, on to walmart and same there. No problems at all getting cash 4 my pin debit purchase. I spent $250 on these projects and only returned $100 total. Hobby Lobby was the only store where it was a hassle and a manager had to be called. Jo Ann Fabrics and Wal mart will be the 1st places I go from now on. I could have purchased all my items at those stores and not had to deal with Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby, you just lost a good customer that spends a lot of money in your store. You need to take a look at your return policies and make them easier for your customers. You are the only store that I shop at that doesnt allow cash back on a pin debit purchase. It seems as if you want to make it as hard as you can on your customers, therefore, you lose good customers.

First, I have never really had to return anything, and if I did, had a receipt and had no problem at all. EXCEPT yesterday. My Simplicity pattern was missing pieces, but there were duplicates of others, hey, it happens not a big deal. *actually I have never had it happen before* I did not have my receipt, because I was going to use and keep the pattern when I bought it. I sew about 500 costumes a season, and had picked it up when ordering fabric and etc. Took it back hoping to just exchange for the exact same pattern. They were on sale that day I think, so they were LIKE A DOLLAR!!!!!!!!! before I knew it there were 2 additional managers at the register questioning my sewing abilities. I took the pattern out and showed how there were duplicates and missing pieces. (imagine all of the thin paper patterns being thrown around at this point) The cashier explained there were 2 exact pattern pieces because you need to cut more than one...REALLY???? (never sewed a pattern obviously) so they got another pattern, and then stared ringing it through the computer and wanted my ID... had to run to the car. By this time I am getting a little stressed. My sewing knowledge has been insulted and basically called a liar, and a little taken back at the fact there are 3 employees, including the store manager looking at me like Im a thief. She then asked for my phone number and I said no. boy did things not go well for me. If eyes could burn through a soul, mine would be on fire. I then get a lecture about the computer system. SO I made up a phone number and got the heck out of there. MORAL OF THE STORY... I could have just gone back, bought my stupid pattern for a freaking dollar, returned the defected one and got my dollar back. I don't need you, I'll go to JO ANNS.

Made a special trip to HL just to return two strands of battery-operated Christmas lights that did not work. Because I didn't have the original packaging they wouldn't accept my items. No where in the store or on the receipt is it stated to keep the original packaging. I had the receipt and had the items less than a week.

Tried to returns items to HL for my daughter. Had the receipt. It was less than 90 days, but more than 60. Did not have the credit card for which the items were charged. So I said store credit. Clerk said because items were more than 60 or 70 dollars she needed to call manager. He said, couldn't do it. Has to go back on the original charge card. Than questioned was I the one who purchased the items. I said no, my daughter purchased the items. I was doing her a favor. I was than treated as suspect. My daughter now has a receipt that is all marked up as if items were returned but weren't. 9/12/16 Hobby Lobby store on route 248 Easton, Pa.

It is very irritating to have to wait up to 10 days for your money back when the clerk charged me something I told her I didn't want because I thought it was on sale. She told me I needed to read the signs better. When I told her she overcharged me she and I felt she should apologise, she was very rude and now I have to wait for a refund. Not a very Christian way of running a business.

I think as long as the items have tags on them and are in sellable shape you should extend the 90 day return. I was at a store and at least two customers (including me) were treated kind of abruptly for returning things from christmas in the summer. The items I was returning were still for sale on the shelves but I was only given 50% on them by the manager. I won't be shopping there again.

Posted by Lillyana9

Just to let everyone know. If you return many items without a receipt, chances are, a hold will be put on your merchandise exchange card. They will give it to you, like everything is fine. However, the moment you leave, the manager will have a hold placed. Sometimes, I think it happens automatically. Then, when you go to use it, or, call to get the balance, there's no money on it. At that point, you have to contact someone in customer service and explain everything, AGAIN! Get treated like a thief, AGAIN! If you thought the people at the store were bad, then wait until you talk to these people. Better be ready to explain, in detail, every item you returned and why. It's ridiculous.

I shop frequently at this store and recently purchased a considerable amount for a wedding. There were several Items that I have that were never used (my daughter chose something else) and still have the tags on them. I looked up the return policy so I would know what to expect, however after reading all the reviews, I have decided to keep them and hopefully repurpose or "donate" to someone. I have had several uncomfortable encounters in this store with employees being rude or unhelpful. I realize now this is a common occurrence with this store and not just my personal experience. I also feel that Michael's employees are much friendlier. I will no longer shop at this store. Hobby Lobby, are you listening????

I purchased something with a visa gift card. I returned the item and got the refund on the card. How long does it take for 5he funds to be available?

Posted by Disappointed!

I had my most disappointing retail experience ever today. I am a real estate agent and property investor. I have spent A LOT of money at Hobby Lobby just in the last year. I only had to return one item in the past so I was not familiar with their policies. Today I went in to try to exchange a lawn ornament. I paid over $40 for a bronze heron. I had it one week. I purchased it the week before and had it in my guest bedroom for a week. The day I put it in my landscape I went to cut the tag off and noticed it was attached by a twist tie. I also noticed it had some rust around the heron's legs. I didn't think that much about it, and put it in my landscape anyway. About 4 hours later as my husband was fertilizing the backyard he backed into it. The heron was so top heavy it tipped over and the leg snapped in my mulch landscape! I went to see if Hobby Lobby would exchange it or give me store credit or anything because I only had it outside for 4 HOURS before it broke. Instead I was instantly greeted with sarcasm and suspicion. The employee treated me like a criminal for walking in carrying it. I would not have been so upset if she said it couldn't be returned and was polite about it. She was rude and accusatory. I had just left my yoga class and was sweaty and my hair was probably falling out of my ponytail, but she treated me like trash! I never got a chance to even say anything. I was so stunned I walked out. I will never shop at your store again. Michael's and Kirkland's are much closer to my house anyway. If management reads this, you have serious training issues! I would start training my employees if you would like to keep your customers.

I had recently purchased a magnifying glass at HL and realized when I got home that it wouldn't work for my needs. I had taken it out of the packaging when I was trying it out but was careful not to damage the packaging or the item. When I realized it was useless for me, I put it back exactly how I found it and taped the plastic back on top. When I went to look at the receipt to see if it would be worth it to return it, it only gave me the department the glass was from. This was useless as well as I had bought something else from the same department and I couldn't differentiate the two on the receipt. There's a perfectly good barcode on the back of all of their items. Why are they not in a system?
When I went to make the actual return, after waiting in line for about 15 minutes behind one customer as the cashier was struggling with another return, I was told that I could only return things that are unopened. If someone could please explain to me how I'm supposed to know if a product is useful to me without opening it, I would really appreciate it. They eventually did give me my return but warned me that next time they would not take an item back if it had been opened because, and I quote, "who is going to buy an item like this? I sure wouldn't."
I enjoy HL's selection of items, they have many things that Michaels doesn't, however their customer service renders it moot. 2/10, will most likely not go back.

I tried to return five items, carefully wrapped, without a receipt and expected a credit. Instead they offered me 50% of the cost of the items. I will never shop at HL again.

I walked out of hobby lobby today feeling like crap and confused... I made a return without a receipt and a couple items didn't come from that store. They questioned me and made me feel awful. Like answering umpteen million questions. For Christ sake it was a gift. Then right after that I got a call from a random customer service rep. It all seems kinda crazy! I will NOT shop at hobby lobby again! Has this happened to anyone else?

Now I'm stuck with out any class supplys "because I'm not a thief" and no money to replace the gifts that were purchased for me. I forgot to mention the items I had are all locked up in a case and an employee walks the merchandise to a cashier if u want to purchase it ya huckin dummy!. Are we even in America anymore? I feel the right thing to do is go take back what this store took from me but in reality that's not the right thing to do. It's gonna be sad if I fail a class and miss out on my education due to not having the proper supplies & tools needed! That's really suckin petty and lame what a piece of chit company huckin losers! TO the person who posted below. I AM GLAD they refused your return. The smell of cigarette smoke makes me gag, and I will continue to support every store who has policies like this. I or other people should NOT have to suffer for your poor choice to smoke.

I attempted to return a faux flower garland and 3 separate stems yesterday to the store in Vernon Hills, IL. The tags were still on the items and I had the receipt. The items were in their original bag. Apparently they picked up a slight scent of smoke from me driving an hour to the store. The cashier called the manager over and whispered in her ear with a nasty look at me and the manager looked at me and said "I can't take these back". I said you must be joking (they are plastic) She then went to page someone else to come over. The tone and the facial expressions that were used are not appropriate for dealing with customers. For godsakes, you would think I was caught shoplifting. Last time I checked, it is legal for me to smoke if I so choose. Your policy says nothing about not being able to take the items back if they smell like smoke. In total, these cost me $50. I have been doing business with your company for many years and have spent plenty of money. I can tell you I will never step foot in the Vernon Hills store again. I threw the entire bag in your garbage can outside the store as I left as the way they treated me just left me mortified.

I shop Holly Lobby quite a bit and have always been happy with all that I have ever purchased. Most what I buy come from your silk flowers and ribbon departments. I manage flower arrangements for two cemeteries plus special occasions. This covers Mothers day Fathers Day Easter Memorial etc.. I spend a good sum in your store continually year after year. With what I do I also have people to please which means I may purchase several items for them to choose from. I rarely need to return anything. But this year was different. With the busy christmas season and on one of my vists, I purchased four rolls of ribbon to make seven bows for christmas wreaths. I opened one ribbon and made two bows to show my client. It was not what she wanted. So I gathered the other three rolls to return along with the receipt and noticed I had been charged for seven rolls of ribbon. I called the manager of the store and he informed me that because he had no cameras on the registers there was nothing he could do about the over charge that was made by the cashier. I understand mistakes happen but when you shop as often as I do plus drive 45minutes one way to get there, something could have been done if nothing but giving your customer a break on their next purchase. But, the manager tells you, sorry , theres no way I can tell how many you had in your bag. Which makes you feel like you have just been accused of stealing. . I don't I think would have gone to to trouble to explain my chain of events to the manager on the phone if I had thought I had a chance of getting rich over three rolls of ribbon. I left Michael Store to shop with Holly Lobby, I have no problem going back and continue my business with them. I know this is no big deal for Holly Lobby the company but there are a lot of people out there. Imagine how many may feel the same as I do. Want a better business. Be more open and listen to you customers. Train your managers to work with your customers instead of brushing them off.

I bought 2 Christmas LED candles that had glitter on them. When I got them home and went to put them in the canisters the glitter started to fall off in chunks on my fingers. When I went to take it out and touched it again the glitter did the same thing. I bought them on the 4th. Went out of town so I set them in a zip lock bag so I could return them when I got back. I went there tonight 4 days later with the original receipt. I was told they wouldn't return them due to them being damaged. I let them know that's why I was returning them. They stated they wouldn't do it. They didn't offer me store credit, exchange or anything. One of the employees was rude and made me feel like I stole it and damage it myself. I told her to put her own hand on it so she could see herself that when it was touch the glitter fell off. She refused to do it. I left both candles at the store and walked out. I left a message with customer service at their Headquarters. I hope this issues will be resolved and that I am not treated the same way I was by the employee's at the store. I believe in treating costumers kindly and try and work to resolve the problem. Not unprofessional and make them feel like a criminal. When you treat someone with kindness it goes along ways but when you treat them poorly it goes along ways in a negative manner. Anytime someone brings up Hobby Lobby the story will be told of how I was treated. Instead of I got great customer service when I went to return something.

I have purchased and returned things at hobby lobby many times without any problem. If you have your receipt for the exact merchandise they will cheerfully refund what you paid. Hobby lobby offers many coupons and discounts so proof of price paid for an item is critical.

I purchased a set of colored pencils from the Virginia Beach Hobby Lobby 11 days ago.
I got them home, and my daughter informed me that they were the incorrect ones - as these are oil based and I was to get wax based ones.
I was not able to return these until this past Saturday. This was only 11 days after purchase. I had the receipt, these were in excellent unused condition and yet the return was refused by Hobby Lobby.
The customer service person said that since they do not have anymore in the store - are no longer selling them that I can not return them however, they did bring up the EXACT same brand colored pencils package - just in a 12 pack, not the 24 pk I bought.
I then asked for a manager to discuss this. He came up and said that since Hobby Lobby doesn't have these - he would not honor a return even with the receipt.

The receipt has only 2 items on it - a sketch book and the colored pencils.
Hobby Lobby's site says that "Hobby Lobby values customer satisfaction -- with or without the receipt. Also, the refund policy that is posted at the register AND the back of the receipt says within 90 days of purchase you will gladly exchange, give store credit or issue a refund.

Hobby Lobby STEALS from their patrons.

After returning merchandise yesterday for only 50% refund I am extremely dissatisfied with Hobby Lobby and will NEVER shop there again. A store that restocks returned merchandise which is in the original packaging, never opened or used and only gives half the purchase price back is effectively stealing! I will not condone stealing.
