Don't know if all Walgreens are the same, but we felt forced into using Walgreens after they bought out Rite Aid stores. I bought the wrong dosage of vitamins and tried returning them 2 days later. They were buy me, get one free. Went back to return them and the sales clerk couldn't get them to refund correctly. She called the store manager up and she claimed that we could only be refunded 1/2 of our purchase price. She pointed to the receipt and said see it's only marked at 1/2 price back. Of course we couldn't see having to keep 6' back and through a partition. These bottle were both unopened. Asked what they were going to do with the bottles? Answer, restock them, WOW, Now that's a 50% return to Walgreens. She said all vitamins, hair products and makeup are only refunded at 1/2 price. We asked, how are we supposed to know that, it's not written on the shelf or told to us at checkout. She just said that's the policy. Really, buyer beware?? We took our 1/2 refund and left. Then I got home and looked at the receipt more closely, she was wrong! We went back to the store, pointed out her mistake, asked if Walgreens was running a scam. She was livid and rude. She told the clerk to refund our money and the store manager stormed off without apologizing. Not ever shopping at Walgreens again and will tell all my neighbors. Not that Walgreens gives a darn when they hire employees like we encountered.
