I went into TK MAXX in Tottenham Hale this evening to purchase some items and to return a &#163;16.99 throw purchased Saturday and had lost the receipt. I was informed that l cannot get a refund without a receipt. The throw had not been used and the tag was still on the label. I explained l had lost a receipt before and was given a gift card. The cashier informed me l could not get a refund without a receipt. I asked to speak to a manager and the cashier said she was a manager and this is her decision. I asked to speak to her manager who happened to be adjacent to her and she started telling him l could not get a refund. <br /> <br /> I asked the cashier to let me speak to her manager without her comments and he advised l could not get a refund. He advised me to contact TK MAXX HQ and give them the last 4 digits of the card l paid with and return with the reference. He advised that was the only way l could get a refund. I returned to the cashier to pay for my purchases. I remembered l had used both my gift card and debit card and asked if HQ could check my purchase via the gift card which l still had, and l took the card out to show her. She took one look at the card and said loudly " This is not a TK MAXX card it's a post office card. I tried to explain the card could be used in TK MAXX because l had used it the Saturday. She still insisted it wasn't eligible for use in TK MAXX and she wouldn't accept what l was saying until l pointed to the clearly written TK MAXX logo on the card and asked her why she was not listening to what l said. She immediately told me not to shout at her when l wasn't. I stated l was just trying to explain something to her. <br /> <br /> I made my purchase totalling &#163;60.00 and left the store with tears in my eyes. I was hurt,embarrassed and humiliated about the way l was spoken too as l was made to look as if l was trying to do a scum.<br /> <br /> I have been a regular TK MAXX and HOMESENSE customer for many years. I was so excited when the store opened in my area and have been a regular customer. <br /> <br /> I checked out the company's returns/refund policy without a valid receipt and it stated l could have been given a gift receipt as previously happened.<br /> <br /> I will be going back into the store tomorrow to show both manager's they could have given me a gift receipt. After l show them l confirm as long as l live l will NEVER set foot in that store again.<br /> <br /> I am one very unhappy and very disillusioned TK MAXX customer.
