I purchased a cheap DVD player to go in my daughter's room. She's a toddler/young girl so I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on a DVD player for her to break it. First DVD I put in didn't work. Second one worked. The third & fourth didn't and made a HORRIBLE grinding noise when trying to play the DVD. I called Walmart (2 days after purchasing) and explained I didn't save my receipt (I thought I did but it must have gotten thrown away in the bags after installing the player) but I could tell them the total of my purchase and even pull the purchase up on my phone on the app associated with my bank card. The lady was so rude, told me no returns on electronics without receipt. I didn't even say I wanted money back! I would have been happy to exchange the player for the same exact one, perhaps the one I bought is defective. She was just rude. So, now 2 months later, guess what I found while cleaning under my daughter's bed! THE RECEIPT! I saved the box the player came in (as I always do with items such as this), took it in the store, explained about the phone call 2 months ago and wanting to return the player but they said I couldn't without a receipt so I said "here's the receipt now, I don't want my money back, I'd just like to exchange it for a different one." NOPE was the answer I got! Why!?! Because it's OVER 15 DAYS SINCE PURCHASE! Seriously!?! I shop at this Walmart at least once a week (I usually buy groceries there and a few other miscellaneous items every week), obviously I didn't STEAL the player because a) I HAD TO purchase it in the electronics section & b) it's got an Anti-Theft tag in it. I think it's bull that their website clearly states you CAN return without receipt but their stores say otherwise. I understand there's allot of people who probably steal from there and try to take items back for cash, which ruins it for us honest buyers, but for items you obviously can't just shove in your purse or however these people steal, there should be exceptions! I'm absolutely LIVID at Walmart.
