Went on a family vacation to Maui (which I purchased through Costco travel) when we got there we loaded up with groceries and purchased beach stuff (2 umbrellas, a chair, 3 boogie boards and 3 snorkeling masks.) when we arrived to our hotel first thing we did was head to the beach where we found that all of the above items mentioned were provided for us. So at the end of our trip I went to return those items since we didn't use them. I explained to the woman at the counter my situation and since the refund amount was over $100.00 she had to call the manager. Now I'm an executive member and I pay to be a member because my husband and I are both business owners and spend quite a bit of money with Costco annually including purchasing gas and travel through them as well. This manager comes over and gives me a hard time for returning the items. She told me I can have a 5% return record and after looking it up I have 100% return record with them in sporting goods and so she's going to pass a paper onto the head management and that will in the future give me an even harder time to return items. I just looked up Costco's return policy and it says nothing of the sort. Costco takes back anything and I sure as heck shouldn't have to explain myself for making a return. I'm so livid about my experience today it makes me not want to give Costco my business anymore. That was completely embarrassing as there were other customers behind me hearing what was going on. They actually were telling me they've never heard of that before either! I put a call in to the general manager of the Maui Costco and hopefully they give that employee a a lesson in good customer service.
