GameStop Return Policy

If you find yourself in need of returning merchandise purchased at GameStop, make sure you have your receipt as it is required for all returns and exchanges.

A pre-owned item can be returned for your money back within 7 days or an exchange of the same item within 30 days.

If a new item doesn't meet your satisfaction, it can be returned in the original packaging (including any manuals, cables or accessories in working, sellable condition). GameStop reserves the right to refuse return on any opened or defective products. Defective products will be exchanged for a like item.

GameStop will not accept any returns on items that were purchased more than 30 days from receipt. Any item that has been opened, not in its original new condition and has been damaged or played with will also be refused.

If you need to return or exchange a product bought through gamestop.com, include everything in the packing list, the reason for the return and ship it to the address listed on the return label. Some items can be returned to the store but must include the original packing list and are subject to manager approval.

This PS4 Bundle I ordered, rush shipping, came with no games (2 were supposed to be included) and controller (also supposed to be included). Called, on hold for over 45 minutes, and representative had these items shipped to me, not rush shipping as I originally had, received days later and games are scratched and will not read on the PS4 and the controller had no cord so it wouldn't work/turn on. I called GameStop again the day we received the 2nd defective items and now they told me I have to go to a store to replace my items.

Beware that if you return pre-owned games and you have the warranty they will not return your money for the warranty that you paid for. Also if you use your coupon they will not refund your money.

I returned a game with receipt only to be told they couldn't process my return without providing my address. No need to provide personal information, I had my receipt! The policy is not listed anywhere in the store either. I will be buying my games and accessories from somewhere else besides GameStop.
Now they can sell my info. Unacceptable

I bought a pre-owned ps4 since my ps4 completely broke and I couldn't fix it. When I bought the pre-owned ps4 they told me everything worked fine and no problems so I decided that I was gonna buy it and. They told me it was 300 dollars and insane amount but it was fine since they didn't have any new ones in stock. I got home later today after work so I can play and downloaded some games and right after I opened a game it started overheating like crazy and it was so loud they could hear it from across the house. And they told me it was like if it was completely new so I'm gonna end up returning it later today but one think I learned is to never buy ore-owned items in GameStop

GameStop sold me a pre-owned system that does not work!!! They will not replace it like I asked or send me my dang money back because they want you to ship it back when they should stop always getting over on people it's really sad asf I wouldn't buy nothing from GameStop they are just some scamming con artist rip offs . Being completely honest, gamestop is a GREAT Store for PHYSICALLY purchasing games and accessories. However in evolving virtual times their online accuracy and customer support is Horrid. You guys here think you waiting 5-6 days past expected delivery date is bad? I've been waiting for almost 1 entire YEAR for my order (naruto vs sasuke funko pop) it said it was in stock online and took at max 7 days for delivery. So I purchased it and was sent my conformation and all that jazz. A few days pass and I'm notified I'll be receiving my package a few days later. (No big deal it's the holidays so I understand) Again I'm notified it will arrive later than expected. It had passed 12 days at this point so I was a bit frustrated. I proceeded to contact customer support and was told "the item ordered is out of stock" By a barley English speaking individual and that I could either keep waiting or get a refund on the gift card used to purchase the item. WHO KEEPS THE GIFT CARDS??? so I told the assistant that it was lost and they told me it would take up to 3 WEEKS (21) days to receive a DIGITAL CODE for a gift card. Somehow they have managed to delete ALL the emails for my past and current orders. It's no fuss now. As the longer they stall, the better my payout will be. Keep it up gamestop I'll personally run you out of business. ;)

ordered 6 items on the 24th of February with express. they failed to get me all the items. i received two items called to demand a refund due to their lack of professionalism, and two major things. they forgot to include all the items as part of the return so now i have two refunds to wait on. and the other major thing is the customer service people are telling me basically im not getting my full refund back. according to them they get to keep the sales tax on items that never even made it to my state. Gamestops whole online system is a donkey show. robbed me of 30$ ima get it back no matter what i gotta do bet that. yall got physical stores too. yall wanna play i can too

So when I pre owned rainbow I expect somthjng inside of it but when I opened it nothing but the disc I assumed that was normal till I realized there was no card for the two free games plus the gold weapon skins.

My complaint is with the "new" xbox series s and x consoles. For one, there aren't any exclusives and might never be. Why make an identical console to the xbox one when we want something different. The controller is the same with a share button that they stole from playstation. The user interface is the same with an option to play Rocket League optimized. Is this the best they can do?

I went to GameStop for a new ps4 controller. We ask one of the employees if what they have displayed is all they carry. He said he could order from the warehouse if we wanted so we said yes. We left and everything was great until we realized it was pre-owned. This was never specified and the cost was about the same as a brand new controller he also wrote the email down wrong after we corrected him multiple times. We go back to the store 5 minutes later and the lady can't help us and our original cashier clocked out so she gives us the number for their customer service. Customer service says they can't help us and we need to do this in store! By the time that happened they were already closed. The customer service here is horrible i'm managed to cancel my order online asap but it sent an email to the incorrect email address. I am hoping I get a full refund and not a gift card because I am never shopping here again!!

so, I was purchasing a Nintendo switch lite and a copy of sword+the expansion pass. I was expecting it the next day which was the option of delivery. apparently the way it was going to be shipped was through door dash?? I don't know if they even do those types of deliveries, but I brushed it off. that same day the person was going to deliver it texted me telling that I needed to cancel my order bc they weren't coming to my area. I was ticked off because first, why didn't they sent another person? and I tired to cancel it but the order was too far in the process. so they left me hanging and now I had to pick it up at ANOTHER STATE which thankfully wasn't far but pretty far from where I live. I went there the next day and the items that I was supposed to pick up at GameStop apparently couldn't give me my order bc their systems were down and I was pissed. I was done chasing after them and called customer support for them to cancel my order. this is the worst experience in delivery I've ever had and now I think I'm done purchasing from the online ever again. I really do hope they refund my stuff or I'm gonna pull a Karen and raise hell.

On December 12, 2020 I went into the Gamestop Store to purchase the Oculus Quest 2 and was told it had to be shipped to me because they don't carry them in stores. I was charged in full and told it would arrive by 12/18. On 12/18 I received an email that my order would now arrive on 12/20. On 12/20 I received another email informing me of delivery on 12/25, knowing that this was not goingbto happen I decided to cut my losses and cancel the order. I called customer service and waited 45 minutes to speak to someone regarding a refund and was told I had to go bsck to the store I originally made the purchase to get a refund. I went back to the store on 12/22 and the store manager said he could not issue a refund and that Gamestop would automatically refund my money in 3-5 business day from the cancellation date (12/20). I called Gamestop today to check the status of my refund and I'm told that they will only issue the refund on a digital gift card and I then have to go back to the store to get cash from the gift card! By the way, the digital gift card will take 3-5 business days to arrive! It's digital, 3-5 business days! This is the most ridiculous process ever! Why didn't Gamestop just not charge my card until my order was ready to ship? Why can't they just issue a credit back to my credit card? WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT OVER 3 WEEKS FOR A REFUND FOR AN ITEM THAT WAS NEVER AVAILABLE?! Gamestop's refund policies need to be changed soon or unfortunately they may be the next chain to go out of business.

i tried to returned UNOPENED cyberpunk 2077 discs and the store would not take them back. there should be no reason they can't take an unopened game back it's the store policy. anyone else have this issue?

I bought Cyberpunk 2077 for ps4 pro and wanted to return it 4 days after noticing the game was super undeveloped and I was told I can't return the game? I shouldn't have to keep a game thats crashes every hour and 4 days is nothing. I was only offered

Purchased xbox series X pro bundle. A lot of the bundle was trashed and I returned most. Games were given back. I wanted to return the expensive $150 headset that came in, but GameStop wouldn't take it. It's unopened and never touched. They claim for Covid-19 reasons which is bogus. I wanted a return for Xbox gift cards tbh.

I bought a Ps5. It had a mechanical fault in the disc drive. They referred me to a Sony trouble shooter. Not offer of replacement, refund or repair. Thought that was illegal.

I ordered an item Oct 15. The label was created with the shipping company but never made it to the post office. I called after the package delivery date kept pushing back 3-5 days every day I checked on it. They said sorry for the inconvenience we will be sending you a replacement. I waited about a week before I received an e-mail stating I was getting a refund that day was Oct 30th till this day I still have not received a refund. I called back in they said I would have an answer from corporate in 24 hours. That was 48 hours ago. Terrible online experience on top of everything I still haven't received the points back that I used on the purchase.

How do you get them to refund an item they charged you for but NEVER even received even after calling them 3x? This is insane. They had me "request a replacement" which I have yet to receive either way. I'm currently on hold because they want me to ship EVERYTHING back to them(I purchased a bundle) and received everything EXCEPT the headset which was the FIRST thing I was charged for a month ago. I have spent plenty of money over the years exclusively buying from them and now I am rethinking my future purchases.

needless to say I'm a little annoyed why does it suck when a new face is working in your store my son bought head phones for xbox 1 of course they broke sooner rather than later we have bought so many head sets from this store i have lost count we go in tell them the set is faulty not working okay they punch my account see the item we get the replacement and leave this last purchase i was not there so he lost the sale slip but he did pay 5.00 for the warranty but the female does not want to do the exchange because we don't have the sales slip . she can see he paid for a warranty and she can see head phones were purchased but she cant see an item attached to the warranty how do you sell a warranty and not attach the item of purchase is this how you guys sell warranties to kids or anyone for that matter so she can see headphones were purchased but she cant tell if what we are returning is covered on the warranty or if what we are returning is a match to the headphones in the system keep in she said nothing was attached to the warranty she tripped over her words several more times so she could see all these items but still would not do the return needless to say my son wanted a working pair of head phones so we paid again still looking for sales slip did i mention i started buying when it was the electronic bouquet #6373492-34763578 this is second slip still looking for lost slip customer service is key all she did was deny deny made no effort to resolve issue disappointed ...she could have check the date in system right in front of her am i wrong?

I just recently purchased a used PS4 from Gamestop. I regret that decision immensely cause the minute I tried signing into the psn I just made it says my access to playstation network from "this PS4" has been permanently or temporarily suspended. Obviously no one could've known about this but I still feel like they could've done better to prevent this from happening.

I bought a pre owned switch in store in November. Thought everything worked great until I started running out of storage and decided to buy an SD card. First SD card didn't work so I bought an Nintendo brand SD card and it still didn't work. The SD card reader in my preowned switch is trash. GameStop should have caught that before selling it to me. It's like they don't even check the consoles before selling them again. I luckily bought a 1 year warranty, however when I went to return it for a new preowned switch they wouldn't let me and said I would need to leave my switch in store to "pay" for the new refurbished one they will order online. What?? I have already paid. I also already paid extra for the warranty. There is no reason they should keep my old switch, leave me empty handed, and having to wait for a new one. I don't trust that. How could I? they already screwed me over by selling me a pre owned switch ("guaranteed to work" it says on the box) and it doesn't even completely work. All these comments tell me I should not trust GameStop and now I see why. Watch it get lost in the mail and them I'm out of a console and money like these other people in the comments. And even if I was to do as they say and even if they did get me a new pre owned switch, how can I trust that that one will work? Can I extend my warranty to cover that one? Ugh just a totally bad experience with GameStop.

Are you serious?!?!? I just read this and I didn't even open a NEW PS4 slim, was told because the seal was broken that I had to keep it despite original packaging in tact. So exchanged for a refurb pro billed at new pricing and it is in HORRIBLE shape and a joke that it was sold to anyone. They said it was a huge exception and nothing is returnable!!! BBB here I come!! My fiance bought a refurbished Xbox One X in June and it stopped working before the end of August. He did purchase a warranty. We have called sever stores in the area and gone back to the location we bought it at. We only dealt with one employee who gave us good information via phone-& not at our closest location). The rest have all given us the runaround and refused to let us drop off the Xbox (which we were told we HAD to do in order to get a replacement). All they did was take our name. I understand that the pandemic has affected production and that there is a wait-but, after dealing with several locations and employees who talked over us and had to be talked over JUST to explain the problem in addition to getting different information from every location-can you see why we don't exactly believe or trust Gamestop at this point? At the end of the day, you have a contract with us (&, according to others, countless others just in our city)that you made when you were unable to fill it. By June (when we bought ours), Gamestop knew there was a major shortage, yet continued to sell Xboxes WITH warranties and WITHOUT informing customers that they may not be able to use their warranty before it ran out... and you have at least 2 people ready to look into very public legal recourse if Gamestop doesn't do SOMETHING to guarantee that it will make this right for everyone who has attempted to use their warranty to replace their Xbox. Taking down names without giving any sort of receipt and employees who can't give dependable information aren't enough.

The new Avengers game sucks tried to return kids destroyed receipt paid with my credit card and was told I couldn't get store credit or my money back without receipt but was offered 20 dollars as a trade in on a game that I paid 60 dollars for the day before. Ordered a refurbished Xbox One X to replace my old Xbox One that had started having issues. I spent an hour after it arrived trying to get the Xbox One X to let me past the "Something Went Wrong" screen and I couldn't get it to work for a single minute. Don't buy any refurbished items from Gamestop since they apparently don't even check if it actually works before shipping it to you.

Bought 8 Wii U games on 6/22. Got them 6/29. 5 out of 8 didn't work so I called CS. They said will ship replacement. Saw a email on it but no new order or tracking info. A week goes by and I contact them again. two days later got another replacement email with no order or tracking number. I think they're just giving me the run-around at this point. Going to dispute with credit card.

I ordered 10 games on 6-16-20, I received 2 of them on 6-18-20, I called 5 times between 6-22-20 and 7-14-20 but they kept giving me the run around about my order. I asked fora refund on 6-24-20, they said it would take 3 weeks, I called back after that time and was told to wait another48 hours, I called back after that and was told for sure I'd get my refund in 3-5 days. Now a month later after I purchased the games elsewhere I filed a dispute with my credit card on 7-15-20, and they shipped my games 7-16-20. So now I'll have to waste more time returning them. What a-holes

I like how says right before you post a comment that it's only moderated by other users. Which means GameStop doesn't even check these comments. What aholes. I bought a refurbished original PlayStation with four games. It arrived unable to play any games, and one of the games was a game cube game, instead of a PlayStation game. When I tried to return it covid-19 said too bad, now it's "too late". Seriously, this business needs to be shut down. They're shady and they don't deserve paying customers. And this was my first time ever buying anything from GameStop and it was in store. :(

Bought Farming Simulator '19 new. Game came opened and case cracked. Not new, and broken case. Will ask for refund and perhaps no longer do business with GameStop after years of loyalty. If they're unable to send the correct items I paid for, and not in a broken case, it might be better to go with a company which will. Sorry to see this after years of being a customer. Very disappointed. I would be pleased if they read this comment and reached out to me to make it right, but I doubt they will.

I ordered Pokemon UltraMoon pre-owned. What I got was Pokemon UltraSun. Not a huge deal, but it's just an extra headache because I already have UltraSun. I don't know how you'd miss that, but ok.

Finally got through and talked to customer service! So I ordered a switch physical game on 4/2, but it never arrived. The package probably got lost since the tracking shows shipped and USPS waiting for it to reach facility, never updated after that. First I called a couple times and waited for 2 hours each time like what people in the comments did. Then started calling once every day M-F and only waited til they read the "wait time may exceed x minutes" message. Finally today it read 30 minutes, and I got through after waiting for 50 minutes or so (Thursday 1pm PDT). The person said he started the refund process as I requested and I should receive an email within 24 hours. Hope this info is useful to someone!

Received the wrong Wii U game in the mail (online order) and it was also defective! So I immediately mailed it back, customer service told me I couldn't get a refund as it's been more than 7 days since purchase (which is hilarious Bc I tested it as soon as I received it and shipped back the very next day), and suggested I apply for a replacement game. We pitched switch controllers on 4/22 UPS LOST order. We have been trying to get in contact with Game Stop since Tuesday 4/28.
Sent out three emails. Called three times. First call on hold for 1hr 51 min, 2nd call 54min, 3rd call 40min and this is tight when customer service opens. Called Corp # tried getting a love person from any dep. no luck. This is terrible. Next step filing a complaint with BBB

Same deal with a lot of recent posters. Want to try and return an Xbox game that doesn't work and a headset that didn't come with a microphone attachment. Multiple emails have gone unanswered and have been on hold for well over an hour.

Looks like my story matches up. I bought a refurbished PS4 -- arrived and doesn't work, keeps freezing, turning off, etc. I've. called, emailed, submitted a claim, commented on their Instagram, Dm'd -- no response. If I don't get an answer soon, I'll get legal counsel involved. Selling shoddy goods, not responding to claims and taking advantage of customers isn't a good look. I can promise I'll never shop w/ Gamestop again. Not sure what to do and I'm out a few hundred dollars.

Looks like my story is the same as everyone else's. Ordered a game. Received the wrong item. On hold with customer service for almost 3 hours with no response. E-mailed twice with no response. Bottom line, do not order anything from Gamestop right now as they are only in the business of taking your money right now with no interest in making sure the customer is satisfied.

My son saved his money and purchased a refurbished PS-4 console for $340.00 The console did not work. If kept freezing, it would not download games and it never operated correctly. He attempted to call customer service and stayed on the phone for 2 and a half hours. Noone ever answered. He then went to UPS to return the item and was told that he did not have the correct return label. He ended up having to pay an additional $54 to return the console and still has been unable to contact customer service. So mad! Put myself down for RE3 remake months ago only to be told when it came out they could not sell it to me unless I got a game stop gift card. Put $70 on one for digital delivery via email and was told it would take about 2 hours to get my email with my card and pin. That was over 2 weeks ago!!! I called the local shop and was told to call customer service, called customer service and was on hold for 2 HOURS, only to have someone answer and then hang up!! Unethically listed "MIKE TYSON's Punch-Out!!" for NES on my order and then sent me "Punch-Out!!", a game which coincidentally commands about 1/4th of the value of MIKE TYSON's Punch-Out!!. Classic Bait-and-Switch. I thought I could trust a corporation more than some dude in his basement, but, boy was I wrong! Impressively scummy business. Worst customer service in the world. Gamestop decided to cancel my online order two hours after I bought a Nintendo switch and new Zelda game. Everything was in stock ready to go according to the sales associate i spoke to minutes prior to ordering online. No idea if I'm

check your games, I bought yoshis wolly world for wii u, it was for my daughter and she just hasnt had as much time to play games, so when we finally got around to opening the case the disk could not be read, there is a large obvious scratch on the disk, obviously gamestop has decided it's not worth it to inspect used disks anymore, because most of the time it's probably bought by some chump like me who wont get around to playing it until they are outside the 30 day window. I understand I should have checked the game upon receiving it, but I grew up in the days where stores like gamestop cared about the physical copies of games, and even offered disk buffing services to help get the disk working again. It was also my fault for trusting gamestop to preform a standard staple service like checking for scratches, because this scratch is very obvious, anyone who would look at it could see it's clearly damaged. thank you gamestop, I will certainly enjoy watching your company go bankrupt

GameStop gives a great big hypothetical "we're going out of business soon so fk you" to me. I ordered two games online. System stated the games were in stock. Then after funds were removed from my card I received a email stating order cancelled due to the store not having them in stock. The order should have been verified before funds removed. Now I have to wait days for a refund. It took minutes to take the money but days to receive a refund. Poor customer service.

Ok i have always been loyal to gamestop but now im flat out just MAD... I bought the "Refurbished" i use that term Loosely.... With black ops 3 and 4, call of duty ww2,infinite warfare and advanced warfare.. First of all i understand that ps4 have a built in fan but when i can hear that fan. I have mixed emotions about Game Stop... I bought a Nintendo3DS XL and had a good experience with it, it was used and refurbished. I wanted to trade it in for at least store credit but I don't have the receipt, should I try to sell it elsewhere? The reason why I want to sell it is that we have an old Wii and it can't read the discs very well. One of the scarce times we are in Game Stop we saw the Nintendo Switch and thought that would be a good upgrade for the Wii it is like 400 dollars! Son bought me game for my BDay and because it turned out to be more of an arcade game than the RPG as it appeared to be, I cannot play it because physical disabilities. We tried to return the game within 24 hours of purchase with receipt and was told that they would give me trade in value. What was the point of getting the receipt or calling it a "return"? I bought a used glacier white ps4 on November 22nd 2019 last night January 29th 2020 my unit will not power on. After some investigation I found that I need to replace the power supply.
I am 49 years of age... I only have two games for this system Tomb Raider which I didn't even scratch the surface on and Dragon Ball Z Kakarot which I just got last week. I say all of this to that I've only just started playing this thing and the power supply goes! I understand that it's used but 30 days? I guess if I played it more it would have failed within that time frame

I can honestly say that GameStop took care of me despite some of the negative feedback here. I ordered a PSVR online and it never arrived but the carrier reported it delivered. Initially, GameStop advised me to take it up with the shipper and the shipper advised I take it up with GameStop with left me in stuck between a turd and a hard place. After contacting GS again with this matter, they had the shipper conduct an investigation and my money was refunded not long later. I appreciate GS and their customer service.... THEY REALLY DO CARE. I'm satisfied and I'll definitely be order from them again.

As I read thru these comments I'm like yup, they've done that to me. That too. Holy crap, that too. A 25 dollar charge kit for Xbox had to return twice well first time they exchange for a new one couple months later the new charge kit the battery won't charge. They won't exchange for new one. Bought a preowned sunburst special edition ps4 controller and got the warranty on it. Speaker sounds awful and I have to press buttons more than once most of the time. I brought it back to Gamestop but they said the only thing they could do was exchange it for a normal controller; I was very disappointed as I bought this controller because it is rare. I bought a new PlayStation 4 bundle online and received a used one. So I go to the local GameStop to be told they can't give me what I ordered. I had an email confirmation of my order. Which stated I bought a NEW PS4 Bundle. The cashier said he couldn't do anything but give me a refund. Since I used a debit card they had to put it back on the card. He said it would go straight back on my card. Well it didn't. And it's a week before Christmas. I can't give my kid what she wanted. All because GameStop refused to send me what I ordered. Bought a used psvr headset to use with steam on my PC. They had to special order it from a different store and had it 2 day shipping straight to me. Day 5 I finally received it. Day 6 I spend 2 hours trying to set it up but apparently 2 monitors plus vr equals errors. Plus I didn't like the way it feels. Wow I'm pretty surprised that they do not even have a 90 day with receipt return policy for items brand new that haven't been opened, I wish I had looked into it sooner I was just slacking with a $79.99 headset for my son's playstation 4 I had already bought him one of them and he ended up getting another one of the same thing for his birthday, goes to show me just how blessed my son really is lol! That he has more than sufficient accessories, pretty much anything and everything he could need/want/ask for that us hanging on to that (I had stored it back in the bag it was bought in receipt and all up on the shelf in my closet; bad idea, out of sight is out of mind for me) I was putting away some laundry when I noticed it and remembered so I immediately took it down and thought I'd be making a trip down the street to the game stop I literally live a quarter mile from, to return it and I wasn't even planning on getting cash back I was just going to use it on whatever caught my eye to surprise my son with and just out of curiosity I checked the back of the receipt to see the return policy I didn't even have a single thought of them not accepting a still plastic sealed unopened item with receipt with it being just shy of five weeks ago, anything less than 90 days would be unlikely or so I thought!!! Pretty disappointing stuff now having a brand new never opened $79.99 headset that now I can't do a thing with!!! I recently bought a pre-owned Nintendo switch, and a pre-owned copy of Super Mario Party, tried to return it immediately, they told me that because I used a Chip debit card I can only get my refund by corporate check, and it takes 25 days to get back, this is the last time I will ever shop at GameStop ever again. They don't care about their customers, all they care about is ripping off people. Why does it take 25 days to get back my money even though I returned it immediately the next day? As I am reading the experiences listed here, I wonder how their experiences went.

Here is the bulk of what I am reading:

"I didn't bring my receipt and I expected full refund"

I just don't like the vague wording around new consoles. If you purchased one , and literally just OPEN the box , without playing anything , possibly unpacking it.. you cannot return it. They make it seem as if you have a 30 day return period , and this is stated when purchase. They should be MORE clear about the fact that the item must not be opened or touched in any way for this to be liable. I bought a 2DS for my niece as a gift, and she opened it thinking it was different than her 3DS XL. Since they are the same item essentially, she put everything away immediately, and my sister let me know they don't need it.
Gamestop will only offer me store credit at 50% value. A brand new system, purchased 3 days, not even fully opened.

It's just disappointing. I understand you lose value , but I know the refurbished ones are 130 on the website...which is where open box items can easily be sold. It does not feel as if customer service is important to them at all.

Sent in my defective dead battery gameboy color and gameboy advance games for an exchange. They should have received it5 days ago and have not heard anything back email (or junk email) wise. Wondering how my games are being processed and exchanged.

They now just ignore and its months later. Which i asked for a return withing the FIRST 10 DAYS of the purchase....

My 14 year old sun bought a Super Nintendo classic on 1/10/2019 witch was $ 86.00 of his Christmas money. He did open it and did like it so he kept his receipt and packaging packaging all in new condition still was told he could only get a refund of 50%. He was not told that when he purchest and no where dose it say that on there receipt. As a parent it frustrats me I try and instill in my boys to do right and I feel gamestop is not standing by there products or return policies. I'm going to try and return it and see if I'm told the same . Will post again if not taken care of

I bought a brand new Ps4 Pro, and their 2 year warranty (that they were eagerly pushing for $60 added on to the cost) from gamestop on October 7th 2018. On December 29th 2018 I downloaded the 6.20 PlayStation update and after it was completed the console was never able to turn back on again. I took this item back to the store and did get an exchange but upon checking out they informed me that I could purchase another 2 year extended warranty or not because they wouldn't exchange it under the store warranty. I think this was a huge mistake buying this product at gamestop because this purchase was expensive and only lasted a little over 2 and a half months. Now as far as the warranty they don't tell you that it's only good for a 1 time exchange and then it's void. This information is not told to you nor printed on the receipt. Or even posted in the store for that matter. Basically I paid $60 for a 2 year warranty that lasted for 84 days on a brand new Ps4 Pro that was over a couple hundred dollars.

I ordered a Nintendo Switch for my son for Christmas on December 3 using 4 giftcards and paid the remaining amount with my credit card. It resulted in my paying approximately $26 with my Visa and everything else was covered by my giftcards that I had saved up throughout the year so that I could afford this gift. The next morning there were multiple charges made on my bank account totaling over $75 from Gamestop and my bank called me. I refuted those charges because I thought someone had hacked my card number. That same day I received an email cancelling the insurance I had purchased. I also received an email indicating my package was being shipped. I received shipping information and everything. On the day I was supposed to receive my package Gamestop contacted the shipping company and requested the package back. When I saw the status change on the UPS website I immediately called the number provided for Gamestop and waited a looooooong time to get a live person on the phone. This person told me that there had been an error and that he would get the package to me delivered. He assured me that everything was good to go. 3 days later I'm still waiting on shipping information so I called that number again. This representative tells me that I still need to pay the balance since my card had been cancelled by my bank. Mind you, $50 did post to my account before I could cancel my card. I told him the whole long story so he put in a request for a full refund since this was a computer error on their part. A few days later I still hadn't received any kind of confirmation and called the number AGAIN and again I got a different rep telling me that he had no idea what I was talking about and that it would take 10 to 15 more business day to get a refund, I requested to speak to his manager and he told me his manager was busy. I told I would wait and eventually after 15-20 minutes I got a lady who was supposedly the manager. This woman was the rudest person ever and told me that the refund request had not been done correctly and that I would have to wait 10-15 more days to get a refund. This was a week before Christmas and I still didn't have the one thing my son had asked for for Christmas. I was not happy with her answer and she actually hung up on me. I've called like 6 more times since then and I'm still waiting on a refund of $275 because only 1 of my cards has been refunded anything. It is January 11, more than a month since I made that order. It is ridiculous that no one at the store can help me and ridiculous that the call center representatives just give me the runaround when I call. I don't know what to do at this point....

The used equipment at Gamestop is disgusting. I bought 2 Wii controllers and 2 Wii nun chucks on a busy day after Christmas and didn't inspect it very closely, figuring they must be selling decent stuff since it was so expensive ($30 for used Wii controller). Got it home and it was disgusting.. Dirt and oils in all crevices of all devices and around buttons. Sticks on the nun chucks were chipped all around the edges. Unfortunately because of holidays and 7 day return policy, I'm going to have to go try and exchange for something halfway decent.

Have never purchased from Gamestop before, and would not again.

I had made the blind mistake to allow the clerk at the store to order me a controller online instead of taking a moment to remember this was the commercial online and not their inter store set up I was thinking. So as usual, the online store sent me a product that arrived 10 days after payed date, although not shipped until 4 days after purchase. The store won't take it back, there is no return slip inside so I have to pay shipping and the whole problems is the tag is the correct item to match the online item but the actual product is the cheaper non charging version I had to order to avoid getting this cheap one in the first place from the store. Now I I've spent as much as a new one with shipping, have to send it back, and not sure if I will get a refund or what I actually ordered? On my own shipping payment. I'm so confused how a business could be run so bad at the online level. Of course, no email reply yet asking for assistance.

It is in my opinion horrible. You open it a bit and boom not refundable. They expect for us to return it the same exact condition and if they see a scratch they say not refundable. That's what happened to me at Gamestop.

Do not. I repeat do not order off the website. I paid extra for Two day shipping, this was a week ago. I still do not have my order. Called cooperate to check on the status monday, the guy was like seems ups lost the order. ok cool give me my money back. Sir i cant, ok cool send me a new order. Ok done deal. Call to check on it and see when it will be here. No one knows anything about anything. Person on the phone in india says well there is a 3-5 day wait to reprocess orders. I will never go in your stores again. I bought a Nintendo switch for grandson for Christmas. Parents said he can't have do to grades. Never opened never used in wrapping paper. How can such a wealthy company not give you a full refund? If you buy a defective product, then they should give you a full refund or they are scamming you! I am surprised no one has taken such an issue to court. You are the customer, and you might not need the product by the time they offer you an exchange. Go for Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, but never buy from GameStop!

I live in Newark Delaware and recently preordered Bendy and the Ink Machine.

Last night I showed up to pick up my game. At first, they couldn't find my preorder, then After proving I had a preorder with an email recipet, I was told my preorder still didnt exist and I was made to wait until someone else became available. No big deal. I'm a patient man. I waited an acceptable amount of time before who I believed was a manager began to help me. After some investigations, my preorder was under the wrong cell number. Again. No big deal. I purchased the insurance and made my way out the door.

At home, my 9 year old put in the game and waits for the usual download procedure. The console does not read the disk. I restart. Again, nothing pops up to let me know the game is being read. I go to the xbox queue. Nothing. I restart. Again, nothing. I do a hard reset on my system. Put the game in and again does not read.

I return to store the next morning. Exchange the game (Bendy and the ink machine) with no problems.

Before I leave I ask what I'm supposed to do if the same thing happens I'm told and I quote,

"The odds of getting another bad disk are slim."

I leave.

At home, I arrive at the same problem. The disk is not being read. I put in 3 other games that i own and all 3 are read and started within 5 seconds.

My wife then returns to the store and she is told that they will not do cash back or even store credit because the disk was Brand New, and they reserve the right.

I understand the scams people run and the company has to protect its assets. But giving the time in which this all took place I dont understand how ANYBODY could think, that I bought the game, beat it in less the 24 hours, and then try to get my money back (this was the excuse my wife was gave when gamestop reserves the right to not give proper returns.)

I just want my son to have the opportunity to play Bendy when hes been saving his money for weeks.

I'm truly at a loss for what I'm supposed to do now, other then hope someone from corporate reads this and understands where I'm coming from.

I loved Gamestop for many Years and have never bought videogames from anywhere else (tried Walmart once but they literally sent me home with not one, but 3 diffrent empty cases for Marvels Spiderman).

Please restore my faith or give me a proper explanation.

I hope everyone complaining about their return policy reads this comment. If any of you scroll a little bit you will see the people clearly admitting that they either broke their game console and sold it to them under false pretenses, bought a game to play and beat in a week and then return it for full refund (prior to new policy), or any number of other "scams" which they are trying to perpetrate. It is because of these people that GameStop is required to have this policy. They abuse the system and con the employees. There is only so much a company can take before they start losing money and must change their policy to be a very strict one, which GameStop has clearly done. Don't blame GameStop. Blame all the scammers for causing this.

I have bought 2 headsets within the last 4 days because they have both been broken straight out of the box. The first one was a wired one and I bought the warranty on it. After purchasing within a few hours i noticed a speaker was out and I returned it to be told i should purchase the more expensive one because it's better. He rings me up and asks me if I want the warranty that Is another 20 dollars. And yet again, I open it up and this time it doesnt even turn on. Why should my 20$ warranty be used up on some crap that was broken in the box. I just want my money back and so I can purchase a product elsewhere.

Got A Nyko miniboss wireless NES classic controller as a gift bought from Gamestop so I didn't have the receipt. Used it one time after charging then went to charge it again and it wouldn't charge. Went to take it back so I can just get an exchange. I was told they will not do it. I was offered to buy another one though at sale price. Nah. Bad business. Will not be spending anymore of my money there.have been a customer for a long time.

I think they should stop selling refurbished game consoles..I bought a refurbished Xbox one approximately 3 months ago and now it wont work at all and they will not do anything about this.. so now I am out nearly $$200 and have nothing to show for it...I think GameStop is a crock and should be boycotted by all...they do not care about their customers only about making a dollar...their policies benefit no one but themselves..do not buy any previously used game systems from GameStop for you will only be disappointed and lose the money you spent..I should have just coughed up the extra cash and bought the console brand new..but I did not know that GameStop was such a shady selfish corporation

I bought a Xbox One S in July of 2018 and now it's November 1st of 2018 and the console won't turn on. I can press the button and it will light up and make a noise for a few seconds and then turn off but nothing on my tv will come on. My warranty is suppose to last till July of 2019. You think i can get a refund? I don't see why this is happening because it is in a clean ventilated area and i bought the console as brand new. It is very much appreciated if someone can either help my issue or know if i can get a refund.

Seems like a lot of the people posting their comments here are simply dissatisfied with GameStop's policy, however in most cases it seems like Gamestop has clearly stated their policy and people tend to think that Gamestop should make an exception in their case because that would be "the right thing to do." If you buy a new game and open it FOR ANY REASON it is no longer new and cannot be returned. If you buy a used game you can return for a full refund within 7 days of purchase, or within 30 days for an exchange. I'm not saying it's a great policy but it is pretty clear, accept it and shop at GameStop or go somewhere else, but don't blame them for adhering to their clearly stated policy, that's like blaming the police officer for stopping you and giving you a speeding ticket. Yeah it sucks but ultimately it's your own fault. Whenever I buy at GameStop I always buy used because I understand and accept their policy, and there have been many times where I tried a game and decided to return it within those 7 days and I've never had an issue

So.. I purchased a "new" XBOX 1 title.. *though the case I pulled off the shelf.. was the actual game case since they needed to open up the game.. to display it. So.. it was the last copy they had.. It was new?? but opened. They put a cute lil sticker over the opening of the case.. and called it new.. when they sold it to me. After purchasing the game on a Friday afternoon.. I realized I didn't like the game. I went back to return it *2 days later with recipt.. hoping to put the balance on another game I had on pre-order.. but... because it was a "new" game.. if I were to return it.. I was told they would only give me 17.00 towards my refund.. WoW... For the return policy.. I did find where it said.. "If a new item doesn't meet your satisfaction, it can be returned in the original packaging (including any manuals, cables or accessories in working, sellable condition). GameStop reserves the right to refuse return on any opened or defective products." Well... they reserved their right to %#@& me over!

I was literally just told that if I open a brand new product and it doesn't work, they will not take it back if I did not purchase their additional "warranty". I am pretty sure that is in direct violation of their own return policy and I should not have to pay extra money on a brand new product on the off chance it is defective out of the box. My experience was awful and it made my son cry out of frustration. He had bought a Xbox card but instead of buying a gift card he bought a three month subscription. The card was not scratched off and only ten minutes had passed before we were able to make it back we love across the street. The key holder would do nothing stating the company had strict policies about card of this sort. I call BS just plain lazy we had a receipt and all we needed was an exchange to the type that was a gift card.the kid was untrained and unskilled at customer service and actually lazy and had a I don't really care attitude. This is sad and I feel it is a big problem not just in game stop but In most people the idgaf attitude is disturbing. I mean a kid saved his money went so happy to buy it then was shattered because he made a mistake. All I know is the store on 67 ave in miami florida has a terribly unmotivated person as a key holder! He worked there night shift on September 28 2018. I'm sorry, but this really has nothing to do with the return policy. You guys should really be more careful with your technology. No crap GameStop isn't going to refund a purchase when it was ruined because of you guys. Don't get mad at the company for not accepting an Xbox 1 with cheese shoved into the disc slot. Now some of these stories I get, but just comeback a few hours later when that person leaves, don't stop shopping here. I personally have never had a bad experience, if I was misinformed they told me the truth, there were two employees that even told me not to buy something. That being a $80 Xbox (it either has no hard drive or close to it) and a cheap controller. (I was young and on a tight budget) Instead of shoving it into my face and taking my money they informed me about the product and helped me make a more educated choice.

So I bought a preowned xbox 1 and took it home had it for 2 days nd worked very well I was very happy. On the third day I was at work nd my 4 yo thought it would be fun to smoosh a slice of peperjack cheese into the disk slot. GameStop's return/exchange policy is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in my life. None of their associates are properly trained/informed of their policy. We have 4-5 stores within a 20-minute drive of our home, and every one of them will tell you something different when you buy games about their return and exchange policy. GameStop offers "coupons" -- like I had a buy 2, get 1 free pre-owned coupon. The guy at one store ASSURED ME when I bought 3 games (one of them was free using my buy 2, get 1 free coupon - but all 3 were within the $45-50 range) that I could return any of the 3 games I got within 7 days (having the receipt) and exchange them for another game of the same or lesser value with no problem. BULL CRAP. I went to a different store because they were the only one in my area that had the pre-owned game my daughter wanted. I even called beforehand, explained that I bought all 3 with a buy 2, get 1 coupon, and the guy told me no problem - to come on down and we could exchange it and he would "take care of us." I had the original receipt, it was within 2 days of the original purchase of the 3 games, and, even though all 3 games were within $5 of the Pro purchase price of eachother, and the game she wanted to exchange it for was the EXACT SAME PRICE as the one we were returning, the "manager" of the store didn't want to do it. He argued with my husband for about an hour about exchanging the game before he agreed to do it. Then said he was going to call the original store we bought the 3 games from and tell them they were wrong. This is such a joke. We are new to gaming. My daughter is 9 years old and just got her first game system. The ridiculous crap that GameStop put us through has made it so I may never purchase another game from their company again. Kudos, GameStop, you lost a new customer.

My fiance was looking for a game that he has been wanting to test to see if he would like it or not and the cheapest place that he could get it at was from GameStop. So in order to save some money he went there. A couple days later he realized that he wasn't going to play it, and so he was just going to return it and get his money back. No point in having a game that is never going to be played after all. He went in today and the guy told him that he could not return the game... There is nothing wrong with the game, it is still in its packaging and everything! But he still couldn't return it.? He bought it September 1st, and you have 30 days to return the product... Today is September 6th. Clearly in the refund policy it says that he was allowed to return the game! GameStop has lost two loyal customers today.

I went to game stop in Seymour Indiana and they would not let me return my 13 year old sons game . Yes he took the plastic off because it was new but as soon as he realized it was the same game he already had he took it out put it back in the case . It was not scratch at all . They refused to let him exchange it we didn't want money back just different game we had the receipt with it also . So I don't understand what the issue was so now he's out 30 dollars on a game he already has . If it was not scratch I had recipt why could they not just let him exchange it .

What about if a game doesn't work? I bought a used copy of "Halo Reach" but nothing would load. I tried on two different consoles, four different profiles, all of the game modes, most of the maps, I messed around with the settings, I tried single and multiplayer campaign. It always loads to 50% then restarts, 60% then restarts, 70% it glitches out all over the place (like the loading bar will go back and forth a million times a minute) the it says "Player cannot load game content" here it says the loading progress.

1. Don't buy from GameStop. Their return policy is garbage and left to managers or employees discretion. They also employ some of the shadiest sales techniques I've ever seen. They higher prices before their sales just to slash them slightly below their original price so you don't actually save anything. Also I paid for pro membership and now they have pro+ and my pro status means nothing anymore.

Save yourself a headache do you business else where.

2. You don't need to save your receipt as long as you have a phone number/account with them. It will be in their system. But obviously KEEP your receipt just in case they wanna lie and say its not there, which they will do cause.

What if I bought a new 3ds and it worked for a while until it decided not to turn on anymore and it's been a little more than a month ago and I had to damage the bottom plate because I couldn't unscrew the last screw so I cut around it to see if there was something inside that got disconnected or damaged but it all seemed fine and I was wondering if I can get a replacement and note that I didn't get any warranty with it because I didn't have enough money for additional costs.

Look, I am reading through a lot of these comments complaining about the policy... you guys are ridiculous. The policy states right there on the back of the receipt and is usually even verbally stated. If you want the opportunity to try a game out because your afraid you won't like it, buy the used copy. It comes with a 7 days from original purchase whether you like it or not policy. If you buy a new game and then open it... surprise! It isn't new you dolts, and thus can not be returned as such. I saw a comment where a guy complained he bought a used 3ds, but it didnt look brand new so he was upset... realy bro? Read what you just said. I attempted to purchase a PS4 and done games but once I was charged their computer went down. I would just like to know what is the exact policy about defective products. I read some stores refuse you or force you to buy a warranty or even try to get you to pay full price for a faulty item replacement. I had some faulty systems that were purchased and I want to make sure if they are defective that I can exchange the system at any GameStop store. Each store shouldn't have it's own policy when it clearly states that any defective product can be exchanged within 30 days. It doesn't mention a limit on exchanges of what can be exchanged. I called different stores and they all claim something different and one claimed I had to buy a warranty first to get an exchange. I don't understand how the policy can be used so loosely. I can understand that they want to protect the stores from abuse but it is not a customer fault when a product is faulty and defective. I shouldn't have to travel to different stores to get an exchange on a defective product.

I bought a new ps4 slim last year never really played online stuff untill recently because I never had psn plus, if I had gotten psn plus sooner I would've found out that gamestop sold me a used ps4 but marked it as used and they are denying it. It's odd how the hdd drive which I've only taken out once since owning ps4 has deep screw scratches in plate hold hdd in place among other things like my ps4 cereal number not registered so the only way I could verify I owned the ps4 was by providing my card number to Sony as proof I bought a game. Gamestop is nothing but a lying crooked thief.

It's ridiculous. I bought a brand new PS4 game, it didn't work because something was wrong with it. I brought it back in the time frame it was suppose to be in along with the correct receipt. Because I took it out of the plastic (No playtime, all papers and codes, nothing was used it was all brand new) they took 10$ off my original 29.99 purchase. You're store return policy is a joke. I bought a sd SanDisk card for my Sega handheld. It came with an adaptor. Unfortunately, these are picky with ad cards. I asked the employee who seemed to know a great deal on these and said it would guarantee to work. I asked him about the return policy and he told me as long as I have my receipt. It did not work and not even a week later, I went to return it with my receipt and the employee gave me a line of crap that they do not accept opened items, after I had asked what their return policy was when I bought it. Had my first experience trying to help my son return a game consul to the Folsom Broadstone Game stop. Jeremiah is the manager, what a scam. My son bought a new PS4 and tried to return 20 hours later, they would not refund 100%...said their policy is similar to all others...hello? I checked Best Buy, Frys, Amazon, they all have 100% returns. Just saying, buy from the big boys, save the headache. What is wrong with parents nowadays, does no one teach responsibility anymore? All I see is a bunch of people who opened new products and didn't like them, threw out the receipt before the 7 day window expired or threw out a box in the same window. Didn't your parents teach you better than that? When a return policy says you need a receipt and the initial packaging hold on to it until the return policy expires, its not rocket science its in the return policy. And play a game console in the store before you buy a new one if you think you might not like it. If you open a brand new product and dont like it that is the game companies fault, dont expect the store to take the hit for a brand new product becoming used once you open it and use it. With all the youtube videos and online reviews nowadays there is no excuse for paying hundreds of dollars for a system you dont like. When it comes to games buy a used copy if you think you might need to return it bc you might not like it, they will do that bc it doesn't cost them anything when you return it, unlike buying a new game and returning it slightly used. And lady with the son who turned in there system for 12 bucks, your son is lying and either pocketed or spent all the money, be a good parent, get to the bottom of it and teach him a lesson, dont take it out on gamestop.

A local gamestore in my area (at least for used items) lets you return things in exchange for a gift card to their store alone with as much money on it as the item you returned. Im a collector and reseller of collectibles such a collecting figures, especial edition game consoles and rare games.
and in my line of business i purchase a lot at retail stores such as GameStop and some times I have to return items I'm not see value increase in the future.
and this company is one of the most dishonest retail stores i have encounter in all my years in the business.
they make up the dumbest excuses not to honor they return policy.
one time I need to return a Nintendo New 3DS XL Hyrule Gold Edition brand new that I purchase in a store in New Jersey.
the system was brand new factory sealed and the employee ho sold me the system informs me that if the item is not open I can returned at any game stop around united states.
well I take the 3DS system to the game stop in Jackson heights Queens in New York. and this employe told me that he was instructed by the manager to not take returns from any other gamestop.
so I ask polite to have a word whit this manager because I was told I can return this merchandise at any gamestop in the country as long I have the receipt and the merchandise was unopened.
so this guy name Jonathan shows up whit this attitude like he owns the dam place.
I explained him the situation and he start whit the dam excuses like you pass the 7 days of the return period!
and I point the back of the receipt were clearly state brand new unopened merchandise can be returned for a full refund between 30 day of the original day of purchase.
he replays It says merchandise not game systems,
I ask him so what you call this?
he say well not merchandise.
at this point I was ready to snap but I control myself and I ask this suppose manager can I get the number from you district manager?
he say I don't have that information at this time sir but let me see what can I do to help you out.
and when I ask him why this store won't fallow the return police like other stores?
why you won't take returns from other gamestop stores?
he star babling about people purchasing merchandise on stores in New Jersey whit fake credit cards and fake money and returned to that store.

If you buy a used game and add the warranty for $2. Don't be like me and think the warranty sticker that is put inside the case is equivalent e t to a receipt. Even though when I tried returning the used game 5 days later B/c it never worked(eventually downloaded to my console, I recommend everyone doing the same) the GameStop employees typed in some numbers on the Warranty sticker and then said my name. I replied, "yes that's me". The GameStop employee follows up by asking for my receipt which I no longer had. Gamestop could see everything about my transaction since I didn't have actual receipt just the sticker I can now only get store credit. I don't want store credit I want we this one game. The game I downloaded at a cheaper price. Sure do wish GameStop had some more sense and allowed the warranty sticker sticker to work as receipt and give me my refund back.

@JPK Dude if you buy used games TEST THEM IMMEDIATELY. "I'm not coming back" because you bought some used games and let them sit untested for "months" then finally decides to try them. That's not on Gamestop. They can't accept returns on games MONTHS after their bought date because for all they know you lost disc 2 and you broke RE5. That's ludicrous. If it is within return policy deadlines then it is reasonable to believe the customer received the item in defective condition.

I bought a pre owned Nintendo 2DS today and when I went to play it I needed to put in a SD card so I did but when I was putting it in I noticed it was a little difficult to put in then they usually are I turned it on and it said that the SD card was on writing protection mode so I slide the little lever on the SD card to unlock it still didn't fix the problem went and got another SD card did exactly the same thing to this SD card too. Also when I turned it on and I was shuffling through the home screen icons it was so and kinda froze for a couple seconds. Can I exchange it for another one??

The 1 yr warranty on games it's a sticker that should be inside the case, once you use it you will need a new warranty for the next time you need to replace your game. It is the same at Best Buy GeekSquad, when you need a replacement and they can't fix the item you get a giftcard.Otherwise the warranty covers only one replacement. Hope that makes sense. Good luck!

I'm here too tell All of you that if you buy anything what so ever from gamestop anywhere. You will be getting ripped off too price. Please buy games and systems from other stores such as Wal-Mart w.e if you decide you want to return your game system your screwed. Because. I bought my ps4 for 350$ plus 3month membership so all around 380$ I came back 5days later with receipt and in 100% perfect condition and they would only give me 200 bucks plus 14$ for the game black ops 3 I did this because I lost my job. And needed money so before I sold it I left my words with them and I made a huge deal I got 4 people who won't be buying from gamestop anymore due to me there and then seeing what happen when I tryed to return... I recently bought the steam controller and its not tracking with my older pc correctly I don't have the receipts but have the purchase on my bank statement. I just need my proof of purchase especially that me and the manager came to an agreement that i pre ordered a game twice on accident and only got 1 copy. the only thing holding me back is the receipt that i dont have anymore from when COD Black Ops 3 came out and already grabbing the game that I didnt know i was charged twice for. so far its looking like Im out of $59.99 plus tax. This is not true. I purchased a Xbox One 2 days ago from Gamestop and they wont let me return it for the full price. You will be better off buying Costco, Toys r us, or anywhere else that has a grown up return policy.

Every employee is required to check a system for functionality to buy from a customer. If it is refurbished, that comes from the warehouse and is assumed to work.
You could just as easily ask for them to test the system before purchasing.

If you buy a game that doesn't work anywhere, this is the case. Walmart has this same policy for their electronics, "In original packaging". Your complaints would then need to move to EA.

Most disk for PC games are now just downloads. Some disk's don't have the game on them. If you buy a PC game from a store, you get a one time redemption code. Once the code is used, it's gone. So you aren't even buying the disks, but the code. You should do some research on PC games first. Though, shame on them for not just selling you a Origins Card.

Really the only big problem I have with Gamestop aside from their extremely annoying, borderline stalking associates is that they charge you a fee when you trade in used items as a "reconditioning" yet when you buy consoles it's 50/50 chance whether they work or not. I mean geez, all the associates have to do is plug stuff in to check it out. I bought 3, yes three dead ps3 systems in a row, and also a dead xbox 360. I am holding my breath for the 3ds xl I ordered online. I'll almost bet it's going to be scratched, chipped and just nasty when I get it. As I am typing this, I am realizing I am the idiot here.

You guys are frau7ds, yesterday I bought Fifa 16 at the Meadows Mall. When I got home I noticed there were scratches on the disk. I called Gamestop to tell them about my issue. When I placed the disk in my Xbox and it said the disk was unreadable. The person I called from game stop said I can go to any Game stop to return the disk. THEY WOULDN'T GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. I pre-ordered WWE 2K16 On 10/24/2015 and on 10/27/2015 I picked it up and purchased it, but I have a problem with so far only one match that every time I finish the match and the replays are done the WWE Logo that spins for loading freezes and it never does anything, so I always have to restart the console and it is annoying me and frustrating.

I'll just like to say if you have your receipt and the 10 days aren't up yet you get all your money back just have to show the receipt. If you forget the receipt and you used your reward card to earn points you can show them that and they can see the date you bought the item and give you full exchange back as long as the 10 days aren't up yet. So remember it's their job to go by the rules. They are not responsible if your forget your receipt or card. They are gonna give you a price for in store credit and cash, if you don't like the price you have the option to tell them no I'll just keep the game. Also I would like to say you don't even need to bring your reward card to the store just give them your number or name and I.d so they know it's you and to see if you just bought the game and 10 days haven't been up. Bs i got a dlc for batman arkham knight with the purchase of the game and like 15 minutes later one of my friends said the dlc was stupid. Okay so I got the Sims 4 for the PC. I payed 64.85 for the stinking game and they game me the one that is glitching and when it glitches it freezes . If I don't at least get to trade it in or at least get a refund I will be upset . They should keep the policy from what they say when you buy it . " If you don't like it in anyway come back and you can trade it in for a different game or we can buy it off of you." more than likely they should keep that in mind with pc games . Those of you complaining that you can't get full refunds on your new games. That is a typical policy in any store on new electronics. At least game stop is willing to give you a partial credit. If you aren't sure about a game, maybe you should rent it before buying it. And those of you with discs that freeze, you can easily go into game stop and have them give you another copy. Of you want to play it safe, buy used games. You get 7 days to play it and return it if you don't like it for a full refund (store credit I believe) or a cash refund if you're a pro member, which also saves you 10 percent on used games.

Bought a New xbox one system from game stop in McArthur Wv had it a few days and it keep freezing up. Took it back guy was rude and said that you have glitzes in system and since it was opened you cant get a refund well how do you know if its going to work if you cant open it. So they open the new one and put the games from the returned one in the so called new console and cut the box so you cant return it. What if it was the game making it freeze?

I am still on the phone trying to get a refund for a game that I can not download or install.
They said their Policy is NO REFUNDS........

The game needs other games installed first and they did not tell me this. After reviewing the web page several times I find in small print that a Base game or something is neede first.

What a Rip Off.........

I called and after an hour demanded the Supervisor and was told he was not available. But then came back and said some woman said it was O.K. to refund me.........

I am still on the phone trying to understand the Hindu Language and get a refund.

I bet I get charged something without my consent.

Was just told that my money will be refunded in 48 hours. Funny, it took a Micro Second to take it from me...

If your game doesn't work, new or used, take it back to the store you bought it at and get another copy of the same game. You have 30 days to do this as long as you have your receipt.

Apparently a bunch of you has never heard of "copyright policy" hence why GameStop will not return opened new games. You know, the part you can't skip when you're watching a DVD?
1. How do they know that you didn't pirate/copy the crap out of that game
2. Would YOU buy a NEW opened game that someone else has already played? I know I wouldn't. That's why Gamestop pushes preowned games to people. You get the 7 day like it guarantee and as long as you have your receipt, you can get full cash back.
4. Try buying a BRAND NEW game at Walmart or Target, open it, and try to return it. I'll be shocked if you get your full money back since Its a major retail policy.
I always go to my Gamestop here in my hometown and they've done nothing but the best.
