We bought a 2litre cask of Shiraz at Vincentia store NSW when we got it home it was saturated and the cardboard soggy. It has not been opened at all.
Upon returning it to exchange at 10.30 am today 3/08/21the very rude customer service officer shook it and said "I can't see any leaks so no you cannot replace it. We're not allowed to replace alcohol." We said that it has not been touched or opened and she did not give a damn.

We are very loyal customers but are definitely rethinking our loyalty. As a matter of fact the tone of customer service in that store is very poor. Most cashiers just ignore customers and talk to each other and they aggressively ask to check any shopping bags.

We go into Woolworths with bags of Aldi groceries and they have friendly staff and they don't even check the Aldi bags.

We are the customers who say nothing at point of sale but slowly drift away and spread the word about our experiences.
So disappointed.

Woodbridge VA Gordon: Aldi: I bought chocolate and I returned within 48 hours because I bought the wrong kind... Cashier was fine doing my return( I am a frequent customer) and the manager stood looking at me then asked me: why you returning them? I told her I bought the wrong ones-(they were for someone else) and then she told me, They will go to trash! that is why I am asking! but she was extremely rude and upset. the chocolate was untouched, packaged perfectly- I had just purchased it. she was extremely upset and showed it- long line of people saw her attitude and kept looking at me. My experience at Aldi, you go there to buy cheaper but their customer service is the worst.... I often go to other supermarkets and the experience is worth the extra money

Found some new Protein Bread in the store today and was excited to try it given that the other protein products Aldi offers have been good so I had some trust in this. Unfortunately, this bread is some of the worst I have ever tried. It's "plant based" and you can truly taste the "plants" in the bread: it tastes like raw salad. It's quite unfortunate given that I've had other high protein / healthy breads but this is just brutal. It's quite chewy as well and takes a while to get down. I would not recommend this product at all, even with PBnJ, and unfortunately I will have to make another trip out for regular bread this week.

I purchased a sun lounge from ALDI (a generic ALDI product) and when I assembled it, the holes to fit the frame to the cushioned inset did not align. The package information said if there was a problem with assembly, to contact the warranty number. I rang several times but it rang out with no voice mail / messaging available. I contacted ALDi and was asked to send photos which I di. Unfortunately I did not have the receipt as I purchased the lounge around 9 months ago but only assembled recently. After much email traffic, ALDI offered me $50 (one third the cost) as I did not have proof of purchase. The lounge is generic to ALDI and it was obvious there was a manufacturing fault. The size and weight of the lounges ( I purchased two) could not have meant I misappropriated them) so I would have hoped ALDI would honour their commitment to cover faulty goods with an exchange. I received instead, a partial refund of $50. I was disappointed and will not purchase this type of product again from ALDI.

Have returned faulty Workzone drill to your Warranty agents .Action Spares Who have been obstructive in making the claim and unhelpful in the follow up.Now over six weeks since drill returned .last enquiry to Action Spares was told they had no idea when drill would be replaced and is in back order. My complaints about the agent have been replied to courteously that it will be followed up etc.Still nothing .Have purchased a replacement from Bunnings in the interim have found their warrantys have been honoured .

My brother bought my dog a sweater from Aldi's. However they are not the other sweaters they carry and were too big. I have the original package it was with but he did not keep a receipt so will they exchange it for something there.I would like to call them instead of going there and waiting in line for a question but they keep hanging up on you for their customer service phone number.

Posted by Patio chairs were successfully r

This is an update on my previous complain posted here a couple of weeks ago in regards of a set of patio chairs I was originally not able to return due to a no return policy they had due to Covid. I was not happy with the response from the manager at Aldi burlington N.C. So I got home and emailed Aldi explaining the situation and asking for a solution through their application., I got a called from another manager at Aldi and she apologized about the Issue, and told me to go back to the store and return the chairs and get a refund since I was in the right, they were chairs no food. The person at the door once again insisted they were not accepting Returns. I insisted very politely to talk to the main manager who had called me and she took care of the situation. I returned the chairs and got my refund without any more problems in the end. If you have a similar issue contact Aldi through their app.

I purchase a 200. "portable" air conditioner, it needed to have a huge hose vent installed to outside! NOT portable! I returned in Largo FL,after moving this heavy thing alone 2 times they refused to take return, after "the masks come off) The policy is original receipt/packing full refund!!!

Posted by Dlatim

I purchased a power cleaner this morning, took it home and didn't like it, returned 2 hrs later and they said they're not taking any returns for time indefinite. That's crazy! Why keep your store open and accept payments if you're not going to accept returns ???? Messed up policy.

Posted by Je

I have a $160 return and they keep saying they can't do returns yet. Why? Other stores are. Think they are trying to get away with keeping our money at a time that most people are needing it. It's a disgrace. There is absolutely no excuse for what they are doing to their customers.

We bought some hoses that broke the first time we used them. Very surprised because everything we buy from all the really good quality but these hoses were very poor quality.

Just bought a pressure washer and went home then my husband got mad cuz it's a non branded pressure washer so i have try to return it the next day. Aldi won't let me return the pressure washer. The pressure washer was not open. What the fvck is goin on!

Same here at the Elkridge, Maryland location, I bought a pair of unusable summer beach shoes which I found uncomfortable. Aldi's denied return based on COVID 19. I found it not to be true because Aldi's does not do on return food. It is the same case with shoes. They do return shoes. So, it is bull shirt. Aldi's lost my business for everyone. You must close down. You push the wrong button with customer services.

I recently purchased an air conditioner which I have not opened. Still in the box taped up. Tried to return it but was not able to return due to Covid. I've been a customer for years. I'm extremely disappointed at Aldi's for not accepting returns when other stores are. Aldi's needs to change their return policy or they will loose me as customer.

Posted by Frustrated with Aldi managment

I have been a big Aldi customer/supporter for over 25yrs. Their corporate management needs to realize that they have mis-managed this return policy situation. Other stores began taking returns again over a month ago. How are returned non-food items different than customers touching them on shelf? I messaged Aldi on their website a month ago and evidently was ignored as got no response.
I purchased 4 lawn patch kits (@$10/ea)BEFORE ever hearing that their policy had changed. If I had known they had just changed their long standing policy (or were about to), I probably would not have purchased them. When I tried to return in early April, I was told of policy change so I kept them. I am now moving to an apartment so don't want to store them and no longer can even use the product and JUST NOTICED THAT THERE IS AN EXPIRATION DATE on the bottom, so they will likely expire before Aldi's management restores their policy. As many others have stated; THIS IS WRONG AND HARMING YOUR CUSTOMERS!

Posted by Liza

I bought 2 smoke alarms detectors, unopened in April. They were the wrong kind. Every time, I shop at Aldi's the store said no return due to COVID-19. I understand that if it is food, it will get contaminated sooner than the unopened pacakge.

This is ridiculous... why other stores begin to accept return but not Aldi's? Costco accepts the return and so does Marc's

I hope Aldi's can accept the return sooner.

Hello, my father bought me some of your Choceur Rich Dark chocolate. Now based on the name of this product my father and I assumed that we were buying Some delicious dark chocolate. Sadly that was not the case, I was so exited to try your dark chocolate because I love your hazelnut crunch. When I took a bite of your "Rich dark" chocolate, I discovered that it was actually semi sweet chocolate. I under stand that on the back of your packaging it says that it is semi sweet chocolate, but it is advertised as being rich dark chocolate not semi sweet on the front.

I need to return a patio chair because of it's low quality. It can not be assembled. I followed the manual carefully but I find out that the screws does not match the nut. There is no customer service at the ALDI store so I asked the cashier to return this product. The cashier said that ALDI does not have an return policy. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Posted by Return policy issue

I am very disappointed at Aldi return/ refund illogical policy. I bought 4 wood chairs for my patio last Week. I spent $ 240. We just opened one box to find out the quality of it was really bad. It cracked on the arms and the paint peeled off on the first couple of hours it was on the patio. So after checking just one, we decided to take all chairs back to the store at Aldi Burlington NC for a return/refund. The manager told us they were not accepting any returns due to the Covid 19 pandemic and we had to keep them, and the receipt until the store returns to normal after the pandemic. Now we are stuck with a bunch of chairs that we do not want packaged in the garage. They have to update their temporary return policy, these are non food items, They are chairs . They should accept returns at this time or solve the problem. The response from the store is ridiculous and unacceptable, just wait until the pandemic is over. When? I need my money back so I can make a purchase in another store.

I need to return 2 non-food items, your ALDI temporary updated return policy Q&A, states a refund will be offered in original form of payment. I brought in my receipt, your attending manager said there are no returns being accepted. I understand the COVID to protect customers but these were opened boxes in your ALDI store. The items require a specific fitting to fill them with air. I CAN'T get these pumped with a standard air pump which I verified with cashier, stated to me just bring it back to return. In conclusion, the store manager said NO, to wait until return operations in the future. This is NOT RIGHT. This is a quality issue, non-food item. Helping out a frontline worker as well to accommodate children that can't be in schools, parks or outdoors. I want to return this now. They were never used.

Posted by Anonymous

I just read your non-food return policy. It states that all non-food items can be returned with sales slip. Yet I am still not able to return the toaster oven that is very poor quality. I am disappointed at this product and want a refund. Why if your policy reads you can return non-food items, you are refusing my refund at this time. Its been boxed up and waiting for a month.

Recently purchased macaroni salad and coleslaw. I purchase it every year this year it was watered down and tasteless evidently there is a new recipe or it had been frozen. When return the manager stated it was only replaceable and never refunded . Why would I want to replace it with the same garbage?

Purchased a wicker chair 2 days ago from Aldi's. When I got home and opened the box, the color was different than what appeared in sales ad and the quality of the cushion was CHEAP and I was not happy with the purchase. I took the chair back to the Salisbury, NC store along with my receipt showing the cash purchase and was told by the cashier that they could not accept back at this time and would have to wait until the Covid-19 pandemic is over. Now unless I am mistaken, NO ONE knows when that will be and could be a year from now. If Management is in possession of this information, they need to share so our leaders can use this information to try to get our country back open. My suggestion to Aldi management would be to come up with a better plan regarding returns. Their plan to just wait until this is over is ridiculous and shows ignorance on their part. I have been a loyal customer of Aldi's for years but today they have lost a customer and I will be certain to share this story with others. It's not the fact that I have lost $40.00 but the fact this is poor management. Does Aldi's have legal representation that helps with their plan (or non-plan) of action? I would suggest this "policy" regarding returns be posted in their weekly sales ads along with posting in the store to avoid legal action by a disgruntled customer who has a lot of time on their hands as a result of the "stay-at-home" directives from our government.

I went to Aldi's in Medford Ma, to return an item and I was told that they could not refund my money until after the Covid passed. They said that after the pandemic with the original slip they can exchange it for me. Who knows how long this virus will last. All companies that I am aware of will refund my money on the spot, with a receipt. Please respond to my email. The info I was give, appears to not be correct. Please provide me guidence.

I purchased a set of 6 solar colour changing lights for the garden, got home to find only 4 worked.left them out for a couple of days to make sure they didn't just need charging in the sun but they definitely were defective. I went to the Yeadon, Leeds store and the young gentlemen with the dyed hair was happy to exchange them for another pack without causing any fuss or issues. Pleasant visit as usual to Yeadon, Leeds Aldi.

Bought two pairs of shoes for my daughter and was refused by employees on exchanging them. They do not fit and I just wanted to exchange them. The Chicago store would not let me exchange them and I have the receipt. I bought them yesterday. I will never buy clothes or shoes from Aldi again.

I returned a couple of spoiled apples today, but did not receive a warm reception from the cashier. These apples were $1.79 per lb. She accepted the bad apples and had me replace them with new ones, but I felt as if she did not want to be bothered. She was not unkind, but neither was she friendly or apologetic. In fact, I felt as if I was bothering her. To be fair, my experience at Aldi, Waldorf has been pretty good so far, even with the often long lines. Today was my first returning anything to Aldi's. I should not have to throw away any more bad apples at my expense. Hopefully you they will make their return policies clear to employees and be more accommodating to guests. Customer service matters.

The chicken tenderloins i purchased from Aldi had a hard green plastic scattered through the chicken. I complained to Aldi and following their investigation Aldi confirmed that the green plastic was part of the crates they transport the chicken in. The consultant advised me it was safe to eat as the crate is food-grade plastic, and that if i wanted a refund i would need to go into a store. I was advised Aldi cannot issue refunds without me attending a store. I understand this policy for returning items that are not deemed faulty, however pieces of the crate were definitely not meant to be in my chicken. We're very disappointed in the response from Aldi.

I had a question about the frozen brussel sprouts, not once but about 5 times I have had a small piece of clear plastic that gets stuck to the roof of my mouth. it is square and see through. I eat a bag every night myself and have saved the piece to compare with the bag I eat tommorrow night because I am that positive I am going to find one. There is always only one about the size of a dose of lsd. Which is what comes to mind every time I find one. Any clue what this might be? The brand is called Season's Choice I guess.

I purchased this item with the intent to use it. It is damaged! Instead of attempting to use it a risk further cracking and possible harm to my family. I choose to have Thanksgiving without my macaroni and cheese. Now I would like a refund of credit card payment. I am not certain where the original receipt is, however with today's technology, the credit card transaction can be looked up.

Bought hot dogs and a week later when I went to pull them out the package was blown up like a balloon and there was a whit cloudy oily substance all around the hot dogs. I tried reaching out to the manager because it seems very off to the point I have concern. I took pictures to follow up but no reply. The purchase by date is the middle of next month. Not sure but be safe people.

I had to return a few items as I've had duplicates. I've had the unfortunate experience of having the cashier be nice to the person in front of me, and then roll her eyes, heavily sigh, and throw my things around. She even began to ring the customer behind me without even finishing my transaction. She was crumbling my paperwork and was rushing me out. I was gonna stay and shop for something else but that just turned me away.

I purchased an insect spray indoor/outdoor device from Aldi as well as a refill can. This device does not work well. The insect spray emitted settles directly on the floor beneath the device and accumulates there.

The floor is very slippery and hazardous to the area.

I have used the Mortein brand and this never occurs

I purchased a 4 pack of Shipsterns beer, for some reason the beer was flat and not draught as usual. I left it and opened another can which was the same. I contacted the store to ask for an exchange and was told that without a receipt (which I didn't have) I couldn't have one. Surely the law says that if a product is at fault you are immediately entitled to a refund and furthermore it is a product only supplied to Aldi. Maybe I should contact the actual manufacturer.

Really bad customer service. Went to return a couple items, I bought pork sausage, the breakfast meat, thinking it was turkey sausage. Returned it because the fiancé and I are trying to eat a little healthier. The woman at the register was very kind to the person in front of and behind me, whereas with me she hardly spoke two words, and basically threw my money at me. Very disappointed with the service.

I tried to return a defective item to the hesperia, ca location and unfortunately the manager wouldn't accept my return for the value that I paid. He only wanted to offer me half credit as it is a holiday item. The item was broken in the package something I wouldn't be able to have known until getting it home.

Just returned a bug zapper (purchased yesterday) under the 'change of mind' policy. Refunded immediately and without issue. As always, staff at Chatswood Plaza Aldi friendly, quick and professional - a cut above the rest in my opinion.

Used Aldi for hotdogs for fall festival. Served over 1000 dogs. We bought in advance for last weekend. It was rained out and we were left with about 400 in hotdogs. The local manager said we will take em if you insist but it will cost our store all the money. He said they would throw them away. It would have been better to just have been told no. I had just left another major retailer with packaged hamburger meat no questions asked no we are just gonna throw it away and lose money.

Bought a Also waterproof cable from Aldi in April 2019 and it had an electrical fault. Even though it had workzone on it Aldi's brand could not get a refund as could not find receipt. Also they needed product number. I found the product number by searching Aldi guarantees on internet. It was on sale March 2019 with a 3year guarantee and product code. So I rang Also customer services with this information and still no joy. I also noticed another number on the website. I rang this number and it must be the importers. Could not be more helpful. Explained the fault and said they would send me out a new one and bin the old one. So definitely worth typing Also guaranties in search engine as it lists all past products in Aldi special buys. Pity Aldi customer service don't know about this on Aldo's own website. Really happy with Aldo's suppliers response but not Aldo's store manager or customer service

Once I informed the cashier of a return verses a purchase, she was immediately frustrated because she assumed it was a purchase. So she called her manager, he told her what to do. Then he walked away. As soon as he left, she was not sure about how process return and asked me to shop then return for my refund. Once I shopped and returned for refund, the cashier did not know how to do refund, I asked to call her manager and this is when things really got out of hand. The cashier and manager behavior was everything short of customer service. My experience was so horrible, I decided to get a full refund on every item I had purchased and decided that this store did not deserve my money. They created a huge scene regarding the return of 2 watermelons. The cashier and manager was not willing to maintain professionalism and absolutely failed to provide a quality level of service. The blamed the customer for their lack of knowledge in regards to the how to process and use cash register. The cashier did her best to continue verbal confrontation and assaults, her manager asked her to remain silent, finally she shut her mouth. Never should a refund almost because a violent situation because of an antagonist for a cashier. Shame on Aldi. Elkridge MD

I 'splurged' outside of my budget and bought myself a $5 block of Manchego cheese. I was really looking forward to enjoying it for lunch one day, thankfully I didn't intend to serve it to house guests like I normally do! My excitement was quickly depleted when i opened the package and found SEVERELY molded cheese. :( What a disappointment. Luckily, I still had the receipt. I return it to my local Aldi. The staff at the register questioned the Double Satisfaction policy and called a manager. The Manager then proceeded to tell me that they would not honor the policy because it only pertained to food items that the customer "does not like. For example, if I tried the cheese and did not like it." Well damnit, I don't like moldy cheese! And what sense would it make to replace an item that you do not like with a second like item? I quickly reminded the store manager that's not how it was handled when I had to return the moldy lunchneat I ended up with last time. Needless to say, I got my refund and a new block of Manchego. I'm very disappointed with Aldi's quality. This has happened to me twice. Is this how they drive their prices so low, by skimping on quality??? I used to highly recommend their meats and cheeses to everyone. I will be recommending to be selective now. Quite disappointed in quality AND customer service.

I returned an unopened fitness product with original receipt 3 days after purchase. I got a receipt of credit but it's been 3 days and credit has not shown up in my account. I went back to store and manager told me to wait another 2 days?!?! Are you kidding me? It doesn't take 5 days for a credit to be electronically deposited? ALWAYS opt for cash vs this ridiculous stall tactic. NOT a chargeback and train your manager's to speak intelligently about responding. I was in management for 25 years, before electronic exchanges, and it only 5 days if the auditor was an idiot.

Hi, two weeks ago I purchased Toy Stiry sneakers for my son who is 4. He wore them the first time to his first day of school. They fit fine and have plenty or room in the toe. When I picked him up he said "mommy these shoes hurt my feet so bad and immediately wanted them off". I have receipt. Will aldis let me return or exchange them?

I have some sliced cheese that has molded while in the package and it still has a month to "sell by". I know that occasionally this will happen with cheese. I decided that I would check out the Aldi return policy. Have decided that it is way too much bother just to get a package of cheese. Also, no service desk, so who in the world would I even take it to for exchange. This would not be a problem at the big, pretty grocery stores in our area. That being said, I will just throw out the cheese. I will continue to shop at Aldi because I have saved WAY more money than just a package of cheese over the past few years.

I purchased a screened canopy (Aldi Brand) last year 10-5-2018 at store 361 on clearance and did not open it until 6-22-19. The item was defective when we opened it (one of the poles was broken). I took the canopy with the receipt to the store and explained what happened and the cashier said that store only accept returns within 30 days for that item. Very disappointing that I paid $40 for a pile of trash, and Aldi won't stand behind it's own product.

I purchased a Scroll Saw from Aldi in October 2018, I have used it most weeks since and not had any problems, I went to use it today and failed to turn on. I have checked the fuse and it is ok. I have the receipt still and as it is under warranty can I return it to the shop Bletchley, Milton Keynes for repair / refund

If Aldi stuff you around don't get angry, get even. They have stuffed me around at the cash register a number of times,
Generally when shopping I will never open a package to inspect the goods as another person has to purchase that opened product. In aldi from now on I always open the product whether I intend to purchase it or not, let them repackage it

I feel that a home goods product exclusively sold by AldiGs such as croftonsshould be returnable for store credit if it is unopened and unused and the store still has stock Most retailers offer store credit even without areceipt for unopened unused products. I lost my receipt for the item and realized after i got it home and read the directions on the outside of the box that it isnt what i thought and woukd like it return it

So, I'm a 'Die Hard' fan of snacking period, especially when Netflix, or Movie binging. In trying to opt for healthier versions veggie straws, over potatoe chips (salty/crunchy) I didn't realize they contained sugar, and upon sampling a few, they were not really hitting up on too much taste wise. Was going to return and request store credit, but after reading some of the comments I realize my dilemma (if you wanna call it that) is small change compared to what some Aldi's consumers have experienced.

I also have the receipt and it s only 15-20 days back purchased. The store does not have one. Where can I get it exchanged . The code # is 20103903. Please help.

I am so disgusted with your 100% guarantee. I emailed several weeks ago about freezer bags leaking. A man called and was so nice and said I would be getting a return plus other stuff. I have heard NOTHING! Don't promise what you can't fulfill.

Outstanding service from Rushbottom Lane and Pitsea. Go beyond duty to help. Had returns and orders dealt with swiftly.
Specialbuys can be lower quality, but can't blame Aldi for that. Plus, buy cheap, get cheap, all relative.
The returns policy is so fair.

I purchased carving set on 2nd Dec 2018from Toombul shopping centre , I asked cashier ( her name was Kaycee) on 6th March 2019 for refund but she told me there is 60 days refund period !! When I ask her where you've found this time period she mentioned on the sign up to cashier !! There was any information related to this matter on that sign and also on the receipt . I need to refunded this item because I was not happy for the product and design . Shame on this kind of employee that unfortunately they will ruin the Aldi brand reputation and make the feeling of dissatisfaction from purchase.

We purchased 2 packages of Appleton Farms Sliced Bacon Hickory Smoked Bacon at your SPRINGFIELD, Tennessee store. Both packages were excessively fat and in one package, the slices varied greatly in size (some pieces just a couple of inches long and a couple of slices longer than normal). It looked as though scraps were gathered up and put in package. One of the reasons we shop at Aldi is better pricing; it is not better pricing when you have to cook 2 packages to get the equivalent to other single packages. We have used this product before - there just seems to be a lot of quality inconsistency. Very disappointing!

I bought a deli pizza (thawed) on 1/24. It had an exp date of 1/25 with a #2 off sticker. I took it right home and put right in a preheated oven. It was terrible, tasted like the dough was spoiled (sour). I think they had thawed it too early and it went bad. I took it back today 1/26 and told the manager it tasted sour/spoiled. I only got my $ back. No replacement. How do you know if something like that is good or bad UNTIL you open it?! If Aldi's sells spoiled fresh products, shouldn't you also be entitled to a replacement? Why would you be returning an UNopened product and getting your money back PLUS a replacement? Seems to me you should get a replacement when you buy a SPOILED, old, moldy, sour product plus your money back for your trouble to have to go back and return it!

Purchased tomatoes which were priced at $1.99 but charged $3.29 at the Camp Hill Pa store this evening. I spoke with the casher, who confirmed my position, and was refunded the difference. What is the "policy" for over charging a customer? Surely it's more than - oops you caught us, here's the difference - like the product should be free.

Please keep in mind this is not an official Aldi site. That is why responses are not made by an Aldi customer service representative. Most stores will not take a return for Aldi finds non-food items over 10$ without a receipt. Some stores will on a case by case basis. The transaction can be searched if there is a reference date/time it was purchased in the store. This is an open site that covers many retail/grocery locations. .

Purchased a portable bag toss game, took it camping then didn't like it at all. It was flimsy and kept collapsing. About one month later I decided to return it and buy the regular full-sized bag toss game. The portable game was a little soiled from playing and I no longer had the receipt, but did have the box. Went to two Aldi stores looking for the other game, and both stores were totally willing to refund but only at the current selling price, which was $5 less than what I'd paid. I figured that's what I get for not saving my receipt.

Bought Aldi trainers but they were hurting me. Didn't even walk outside with them. Tried to return them but won't accept withought receipt. They are Aldi brand - the label is still on them. What's the point in advertising all about good customer service when you do that to your customers. I can't afford to lose that money and to then buy other trainers. I have disabilities and need shoes that don't hurt as my walking is bad enough but Aldi don't mind who they leave out of pocket. As long as their profits keep climbing - shocking service, disappointed and feel let down massively. I actually contacted you a last year to see if you would consider opening a store near us. How wrong was I

I bought a solar twin head flood light 2 weeks ago and did not install it until this sunday. It turned out the motion sensor is not working. Obviously we had to return it but learned we need the receipt to do an exchange or return. But we bought it 2 weeks ago and unfortunately the receipt is nowhere to be found. And we are now stuck with this defective unit. Aldi is the only one who sells this. I wonder why the receipt is needed? Im really furious! This is exactly the opposite of the good customer service that aldi is raving about.

Ive shopped at ALDI for over 30 years and NEVER had all the problems I see on this comment page. Yes I've had the occasional bad produce or pkg of something (just like I've had at any other grocery store I've gone to) but for the most part the food has been amazing. I'm sure some stores are run better than others but as a whole I'm extremely happy with ALDI!

I shop at two Aldi stores; one serves the suburbs and the other the inner-city of Philadelphia. The difference in treatment is like night and day. In the suburban store I returned an item without a receipt and got the replacement and refund. In the inner-city store I got stonewalled. Also, I found one item at a higher price in the inner-city store (mind you, people are poorer in the inner-city and a greater proportion are racial minorities).

I shop Aldi's in Wisconsin and I appreciate the quality and customer service. Occasionally a product will be discontinued - a favorite cereal, for example - but it seems that new products are continually being introduced and I like that. I also like the organic line of foods. I've never had a problem with returns!

To actually get a answer from ALDI'S on any of your questions, you need to go to: www.aldi.us
That is how you can get ALDI'S to answer your questions.

From what I have read on this returnsandrefunds.com, it says that it is only read and looked at by other users who want to make comments and not by ALDI, at all!!! This site is for shoppers to make comments for other shoppers or potential shoppers to be able to see others' comments. I would never buy food from ALDI!!! If you read the labels of packaged food, you would see that it comes from Germany, not the USA. I believe that we need to buy food in the USA FROM USA and support USA!!! The people I know who shop at ALDI'S only do so because they are CHEAP!!!

Been two days since having to swipe my bank card to get my refund and the monies have not been returned to my account as of yet. I will be giving this one more day before filing a complaint with my states attorney general. I have both my original and the refund receipt. I have seen no policy as to the time the refund should be returned to me, but other stores I have had to do this at took no less than two days.

We have been purchasing Choceur Dark Hazelnut chocolate bars from your Brooksville store since it opened up. We really enjoyed the quality and flavor, so we almost always bought at least 5 bars when we shopped. The last time we were in we purchased 5 bars before our others ran out to have on hand. When we opened the first one of the new batch and tasted it we immediately could taste the difference. Not at all happy with whatever they did to the new batch, one difference we did see on the ingredients was they used vanilla powder instead of vanilla. We did not keep the receipt because we had no intention of returning them, but because they do not taste like the others we bought wanted to return them. Went into the store to return them and the lady said we had to do it on line, well she gave no instructions of where to go on line, very unprofessional response. So could you please advise where we can or how to return them. Deborah Barnhart

Aldi's on Coit Road in Plano is horrible. They overcharged me by almost $20 and wouldn't correct the error, so I had to leave. As I didn't want to swipe my card for that amount. I was only buying four items and it should have been around $6.00 for what I was buying, which included two gallons of milk for my babies. The cashier did not apologize or admit he was wrong. I plan to write as many negative reviews as I can online and spread the word in my community not to shop in this horrible store. They tried to take advantage of me and should be deeply ashamed of who they are and what they represent. Not because of the cashier error but because of their arrogance in not apologizing or trying to rectify the matter.

I see folks asking questions on here and waiting for Aldi responses. Not seeing them. I bought a retractable dog lease ("Shep" brand) so many months ago but cannot find my receipt. My husband eventually tosses receipts after they clear the credit card, etc. I didn't keep the packaging that may have had a manufacturer warranty on it. Isn't Shep a brand unique to Aldi. Anyway, this product failed very quickly and I hope I can get my money back. I also want to comment on how employees do not uniformly seem to know and understand the return policy. I returned a heat and serve noodle dish because it tasted like paste, and the cashier didn't know about any policy at all. She finally called the manager on duty who instructed her to simply refund me. I walked away wondering what the Double Guarantee means...seems I should have received another product as well. You have a big fan of Aldi here, so I don't want you to think I'm a moaner!

I had purchased a garden tool several months ago. It had NEVER been opened and I had my receipt. I explained this to the night manager at the Mesquite, TX location last night, Sept 22, 2017 at approx 8pm. She used a box cutter to open the product, then tells me that this box had been open before because we "ALDI" does not package it's products like this. I explain, she is incorrect. This box had NEVER been open, because it was loss in my house, due to moving. I just found it. I then informed her, that It has NEVER been open, until you/she opened it with the box cutter. Then she tells me that the 30 day policy has lasped. She then hands me the open garden tool box, with a disbelieve look on her face; like I lied. I felt humiliated. I returned my now opened box to my car, looking mortified. I always shop at this ALDI, I do not come this late. I refuse to let that young ladies unspoken words of me, stop me from shopping. The young lady saw me again shopping and made a statement under her breathe.

I purchased two bottles of wine last week. The wine I picked up was not the one my wife wanted. I went yesterday to return the wine at the same store where I purchased it (store #60 in Springfield VA) and was told that ALDI does NOT do returns on wine. Is this true? I have looked at your return policy and I have not found that specific exclusion anywhere. I gave the clerk the benefit of the doubt and left the store without a fuss but out of principal I want to find out the truth.

I have shopped at Aldi in Shelby,Charlotte, Lincolnton and Gastonia North Carolina at least three times a month for fifteen years or since their opening. Last year I purchased several watermelons that could not be eaten. I pitched them in garbage and never complained one time. The first one I purchased this year was the same and I did complain and was told I was the ONLY customer that had a complaint and was not offered a refund even after telling get the clerk about the previous ones. Today I decided to try one more time and discovered I paid for two and only got one. This was in Shelby North Carolina. The others I complained about was in Lincolnton NC. Are you supposed to drive thirty miles round trip to return bad items. Yes also I would like to add this was my first time to complain about anything at Aldi because I have loved shopping there.

No one can be as customer friendly as PUBLIX. They are the BEST. No questions asked, they take back anything they sell whether it's open, partially consumed or used!!! If you have the receipt, they will credit it back to your credit card. If no receipt, they give you a Publix Gift Card. I LOVE Publix; they are the best. BTW, Walmart is also customer friendly and no hassles when you return items that are opened or used. Most businesses are striving to be "customer friendly."

To all people who posted, I hate to say it out aloud but most of the comments made were in regards to no refund without a receipt being produced. What do you expect? Keep your receipt! Simple. I have returned products without issue purely because i kept the receipt. Aldi produce great products, and their prices are very reasonable, not bumped up by greedy supermarkets such as coles or woolies. Competition is good.

I was considering shopping at Adi's due to the low prices. Most of the products/items were not name brand, so I was concerned. After reading theses posts, I will stay with Hannaford's who back up THEIR own brand with a double back guarantee, even after opened. (ALDI-How do you know something doesn't taste right, or is too salty or has mold unless you open it.) Anything returned with a receipt and majority of item )non-Hannaford brand) can be exchanged You do have to have a receipt for the double back, but their return policy is authentic, not a hoax. Thank you for all who posted. You saved me a lot of time and frustration, and possibly $ I cannot afford to lose. I have only had to return 3 or 4 things in 12 years under the Hannaford Brand, which 99.99% of their brand I did not have to return. Hannaford'd brandis just as good as name brands. Never had a problem dealing with them. And if they overcharge you on an item, you get !)x that amount up to a certain limit. I wasn't aware of these policies until my first return when I received too much $ back. But the representative at customer service informed me of their true "DOUBLE back Guarantee", on their products. It seems to me Aldi's has a "DOUBLE TALK" guarantee. No Thank You, ALDI!!!!!!!!! Word of mouth or posts speaks volumes. Shame on the ALDI corporation and management for misleading advertisement.

I bought a packet of Real Bacon Bits. The next week, I opened the bag and it was full of green mushy mold. It was still in date, had not been opened prior to my opening it, and when I took it back WITH my receipt showing I had only bought it the past week, the cashier kept saying she didn't understand why it was moldy and she hesitated about giving me a refund. She asked me if I wanted to exchange it for another one and I said NO, the other ones are soft and swollen, too, so someone needs to check them and pull them off of the shelf. She hesitated again about refunding my money and said well, this one is still in date and I don't see how that happened. First of all, she should not have hesitated and questioned me. I am in that store 2 times a week, most weeks, buying groceries. Finally, she did refund my $1.29 but it wasn't worth the hassle to me. If that should ever happen to me again, I will not shop there anymore.

Very dissapointed with Aldi. A rechargeable Inspection Lamp purchased in Store only 8 weeks ago has failed. Without a receipt they are unwilling to either exchange it or even provide a credit note. The Store provided a Customer Support Telephone Number with instructions to ask them for an Authorisation Code to enable them to deal with this. Customer Support say WITHOUT THE RECEIPT there is nothing they can do, even though I confirmed that I witnessed my husband purchasing this item by cash, which I believe in law is proof of purchase.

We purchased a Bluetooth AM/FM tradesmen's wireless from Aldi at Brightwater, Queensland Australia some 6 months ago, it was on a 'mark-down' table without a box, the wireless and its power-pack and guarantee were wrapped in plastic, I presumed it was a demo model from their showcase so bought it at the reduced price.
When I turned it on it was already charged so I didn't need to do that, when I tried to tune in our local stations I found the knob to be so touchy it had to be turned as if it was tissue paper or it was off the station, the band with for tuning is so fine it is difficult to use.
When I turned it off I found the knob made a click sound to indicate the power was 'OFF' however the knob kept turning anti-clockwise and the pilot light came back on without any volume.
When I tried to connect the Bluetooth, the main reason I purchased this for yard use, I had trouble finding my iPhone so I tried it on my computer, again it would not work...after much fiddling to and fro I finally got the iPhone to work but at a very reduced volume compared to the wireless.
Later I managed to get my computer to work also but with the same volume result.
However I found what this wireless does is more than often lose the last Bluetooth connection forcing me to re-find it on the last unit I had attached to it.
FROM MY PRESUMTION THIS WAS A DEMO MODEL AND HAVING MISLAID THE BOX IT WAS GOING CHEAP I FIND THE ONLY EXPLANATION FOR IT BEING 'CHEAP' WAS THATN SOMEONE HAS JAD THE SAMNE TROUBLE AND RETURNED IT THEN BY ERROR OR DESIGN THE UNIT WAS WRAPPED AND PRESENTED AS A NEW ITEM FOR SALE AT A REDUCED PRICE...IN OTHER WORDS I WAS 'HAD'!
I have had other problems with ALDI merchandise and gone to the warranty, one time I was told to take it back and a replacement would be waiting for me, it was, another time a refund would be waiting, it was and a third time a broken part was sent to me via a courier some 8 months after my contact with the warranty company...AND...after I had told them not to bother as I had returned it to the shop, obtained a refund and no longer had the item concerned, so determined were they to give me the part I could no longer use they tracked me down to another state after we had move residence, you can't knock their dedication...Not rain, hail nor snow, nor cancelation of need and change of address either it seems.
Now it seems I will be stuck with a Bluetooth wireless that bluetooths sometimes, is fiddly to tune and I have had to replace with another from another retailer...
The moral of my saga is...if you see an electrical item on an ALDI 'for sale cheap' table forget it...in all probability it is something someone has found to be broken or not working as described and so returned it to the shop for a refund, so the ALDI shop manager stuck it out for some other sucker to see and think they were getting a bargain...'Let the Buyer beware'...especially at ALDI I have found!!!

First Off I Absolutely Love Aldi, Have Been Shopping There For A Couple Of Years. But As Of Today, No More! The Aldi I Shop At Has Had Several Turnovers Of Managers And Cashiers As Well, And I've Had To Get Used To That But When Someone Gave Me Several Bottles Of Wine With My Christmas Gift Yesterday I Was Pleased And Even Though Two Bottles Were A Kind I Don't Realky Like I Thought Well Hey I'll Ask My Friend If I Can Return Them. I Did So And She Said Yes I Still Have The Store Receipt. Well Guess What The Manager Tells Me He Cant Take It Back For A Refund Or An Exchange? What, Excuse Me But The Bottles Were Sealed Haven't Been Open And You Refuse To Even Exchange Them! What Kind Of Stupid Policy Is That? And Not Only That But The Cashier Was Rude And Like Just Attitude Towards Me! So Instead Of Me Leaving With Wine I Like I Turned To Tge Couple Behind Me Asked Them If They Would Like It They Said Sure, And I Said Merry Christmas! I Told My Friend What Happened She Said She Will Shop There No More So Aldi You Just Lost Two Loyal Customers Who Both Have Averaged Spending 150.00 To 200.00 A Week In One Of Your Stores You Might Not Care But We Both Love To Talk And Use Social Media Very Well!

Just returned a 5lb roll of hamburger meat that went back before the date. They refunded the roll, but I had to purchase the replacement at a higher price because they were out of the rolls. I did not get the double guarantee. I am considering emailing tomorrow since you cannot call.

Just purchased asparagus and about an hour later I opened the package & the smell was horrible. It was slimy & rotten. I took it to the trash immediately since the garbage pick up is the following morning. I will not keep the product due to the smell & condition. There is no phone number published for the Aldi where I bought it. Can I get a refund with the receipt only?

Last Christmas holiday season I bought several containers of Aldi chicken broth in square cartons with pour spouts with plastic screw tops. I noticed that the spouts has been squashed down a bit, but bought them anyway. When I went to use them, the product has mold around the spout. I didn't use any of them and took them back as soon as possible after Christmas. I had my sales receipt and the cartons to show the problem. I was immediately given cash back totally for two times the product. I didn't have to just get another set of cartons of broth, which at that point I would not have needed, since Christmas was over. The cashier said to just buy anything I wanted, so I got a nice shopping bag that fits inside the grocery cart and even has a place for the quarter for the cart. I couldn't have been more pleased with my return. I was not happy with the product not being able to be used for my dressing for Christmas dinner. I think the design of the carton has changed to be totally squared off for safe stacking. This store was in Ft Worth Texas around Bedford area.

Can I return a food item without a receipt?

Purchased a high pressure water cleaner for $100 fm Aldi Erina Fair and I used it 3 times before it broke.
I kept the receipt but not the packaging- therefore I wasn't entitled for a refund. Never again!

I just bought a 24 pack of PurAqua Purified Drinking water from Seneca, SC. The smell and taste is not like other. Why does it have a funny stench? I want to return this product back to ALDI.

I was snacking on Southern Grove Sunny Cranberry trail mix just now, bought at Aldi in Cumming Ga. I bit into what looked like a round peanut and immediately, what was released into my mouth was pure citric acid. It was so lemony sour that I had to spit it out and brush my teeth, as the taste went into all the trail mix I had in my mouth at the time. I almost vomited, the taste was so bad. The texture was more like crystal powder than nut. We usually do most of our shopping at Aldi because we like the quality and pricing. However, we do not still have the receipt. I am more concerned about health risk than getting my money back anyway, so I have the mouthful of crunched trail mix and whatever the nasty tasting round thing was in a sealed plastic bag in the fridge. Considering getting it analyzed at the lab. I have seen a recall of Southern Grove trail mix online, with a possible salmonella contamination, also another customer posted this:06

Hello, I am writing this letter on the behalf of one of your trail mix in the 1.75oz bag. I purchased them at the Aldi's store on West Florissant right pass the Seven Hills area, zipcode 63033, I think. Nature's Best Southern Grove, Indulgent Trail Mix: My son was having this for a breakfast on the run, before he left today. Thursday, March 6, 2014 had a matchstick in it. He actually had this in his mouth. I think you should contact the people that put these on the shelf. We don't smoke or even own these. Someone could have seriously CHOKED on this. PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT!! You may say it was just a small purchase, I say it could have caused a DISASTER in somebody's life. I will NOT be buying SOUTHERN GROVE anything in the future.

Thanks.

Two weeks ago I purchased a "Back to School cerise pink girls padded coat age 4/5 with a fur edged hood. I still has the original label "avenue kids" and has not been worn. My granddaughter aged 4 - who it was for - come today and it is a not big enough, she could really do with an age 6/7. Unfortunately I have misplaced the receipt. Could I return it for a refund to my nearest store in Blackwater, Surrey (place of purchase)and is there any chance I can obtain a bigger size ? I did not see any left at my local store when I was in there last week.

We purchased our daughter some skiwear for a school ski-camp from Aldi 5 or so weeks ago.

She recently fractured two toes and is unable to attend camp.

Wondering if Aldi will deny us a refund based on our special-buy purchase being more than 30 days ago.

My feeling is we won't be eligible for a refund, sadly.

I bought a special buy Clothes hanger. The receipt is lost. Can i return this? It was purchased last week.

bought cashews today with the sign saying 6.99. When i got home and looked at my receipt is said cashews were 11.99. I was not too happy. Can I return them, unopened with receipt?

Brought in receipt for rotten watermelon. They refunded the cash, but when I went to get another one, the cashier told me I had to purchase it. What does refund and another item mean, then?

Posted by Anonymous

purchased seedless watermelon, paid 3.99 + tax. Worse watermelon ever. Not sweet at
all, no water melon taste, very light pink in color. Took sales slip back and talked
to one of the employees. I was NOT offered a refund of money. Told I could pick out another, which I did. IT WAS OVER RIPE AND NOT TASTY. I have shopped at Aldi
since it opened here and I am sorry to say the quality of your produce has decreased.
You need to find a different supplier than HarvestMart 4032.

Last month I purchased a 4-burner gas grill. Day before yesterday, I opened the box and assembled it, that took 3 hours. To my surprise, it is not a natural gas grill. Its gas supplying hose is meant only from propane tank only. The manufacturer was called in. They said to return it the store, as they cant replace it as it was not purchased directly from the manufacturer. Now what is ALDI return policy for it? I need my money back. Anybody, please guide me.

I'm an avid aldi shopper wanting to express my concerns for all the knit picks. As for the double back guarantee I've seen so many people while shopping abuse the system ex: a lady bought a whole case of spaghetti sauce and didn't like it and wanted to go back and get another case of spaghetti sauce plus her money back. People come on now that's why the prices are steady creeping up. Anytime you return something it is automatically thrown away. If a product is bad exchange it or throw it away. if it happens a third time just don't buy that product again. Problem solved. Enjoy a good thing while it lasts because so many people are abusing a good store you'll end up back at Wal-Mart paying 4.50 for some strawberries

Tried to return an unopened double duvet for an upgrade to a kingsize, NO RECEIPT no exchange...so much for keeping the customer happy, getting to big for their boots now i think.

We returned some bad asparagus today and they replaced it, but no cash refund like it says about the double refund policy.

The clothing purchased is apart of the special buy area that requires that you have the receipt in order to returnot the item. Also it must be within 30 days.

I wanted to return three clothing items still in packaging about 3 months old without receit and Aldi would not accept it.
Big Deal, someone else will buy them...return the things and make customer satisfaction

I love your store first off. but I have had problems with a purchace of sea salt pretzels. I got 2 last week and when I tried to bake them they turned out rather flat a just almost burned on the bottom . I have had these before and didnt have this trouble. so I guess I just got a bad batch. I was wondering if I might get a refund on the 2 I bought?

It seems most of the comments here are negative about experiences with ALdi's return policy. My experiences have been positive, although I was unaware of the refund/replace guarantee until just recently. Of course they didn't mention it to me. I have a copy of the policy in my purse and will present it the next time I return something. I look forward to more positive experiences with Aldi's.

I bought some produce from Aldi, not even a week ago and it has all gone bad. I didn't keep the receipt because I didn't think that was something I would have to return and I rarely ever keep food receipts. The store wouldn't take it back. I guess I won't be shopping Aldi anymore because, a whole bag of russet potatoes, sweet potatoes, AND zucchini have gone bad in just a few days.

I bought happy farm's cream cheese and it was sour. I dont know if it was a bad batch from the vendor or if it was stored Improperly by ALDI's. Todays date is 6/21/14 and the code date on the item is 11/5/14. ALDI's needs to step their game up. A customer should not take a bite of their bagel and tast "sour" cream cheese. Item was purchased at ALDI Rensselaer, NY

I bought the frozen stuffed shells at Aldi and had a allergic reaction. I am allergic to msg and apparently this was included but under a different name than msg.

Yesterday I spent £49.99 on purchasing a HD Camcorder to attach to a bike. Camcorder failed to operate so today returned the item to the store so I could exchange the item. I was told I could have another item but I would have to purchase that and they would issue a refund to my card for the returned item. That would mean that I would be out of pocket by £100 instead of £50 for nearly a week. Strange policy! So when I eventually get my refund I will purchase another camera elsewhere! Disappointed as wanted to use the item this weekend!

Aldi will not return a neck vibrator even though the sign says satifaction guaranteed on products. The shift manager told me that meant food products only. I lost my receipt she would not even give me store credit. Don't post a guarantee, and not back it up. I was in the Lawrenceville, Ga store.

I almost always buy my toilet tissue at aldi but the package of 12 roll willow soft and strong is rough like sand paper. That may be the end that . Why do they change their products like they do? Keep it up , i am heading back to walmart.

In March 2013 I purchased Aldi brand basil infused olive oil but could not open the bottle no matter how hard I tried. I returned the bottle to the Duluth GA Aldi store and the manager would only give me a replacement but not refund my money. Aldi has the Double 100% satisfaction guarantee and the manager said it did not apply in this case. Aldi's website states "If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with any product, we will gladly replace the product AND refund your money." The Aldi olive oil had the double guarantee printed on the bottle. Aldi's guarantee is meaningless.

I took a electric stove back with a receipt for a refund as did not need ut paid part card part cash the assistant manager said I can only be refunded card as it was the majority payment but I wanted the refund to be the way I paid for this

I have purchased most of my groceries at Aldi's. Prices can't be beat. My problem lately has been with the Southern Grove pitted prunes. Finding in recent months the prunes in containers are packed down causing many to be flattened down.
Even occasionally so tough they are difficult to chew. If this was a one time occurrence I wouldn't have thought any more about it. (has been every container)
Not sure how to handle this since a good part are ok. My plan is to inform my local store to see how to handle.
